談起Patti Page的歌曲﹐相信喜歡50/60年代國語時代曲的歌迷﹐也會想起香港的一位歌壇前輩﹐她就是橫跨30到60年代的歌星姚莉。

姚莉在30/40年代上海時期﹐因祟拜周璇而刻意模仿其唱腔﹐並且得到銀嗓子的美譽﹐但是到50年代南移香港時﹐因順應著自己嗓音日趨成熟﹐故發展出一種較低沉的聲音。熟悉她的歌迷﹐也知道Patti Page是她的另一個偶像﹐於是香港時期﹐她除了主唱很多原創作品外﹐也改編了不少 Patti的歌曲﹐成為她一批中詞西曲的名作。

筆者兒時常聽的一張“姚莉之歌之雪人不見了” 專輯﹐便分開原創的 Side A及B Side的改編歌曲﹐改編歌方面收錄了今夜太神秘 (I Love To Dance With You)﹑ 舞伴淚影 (Changing Partners)﹑ 狂舞 ( I Can’t Tell A Waltz From A Tango) 三首Patti Page歌曲。另外她的 Tennessee Waltz﹑You Belong To Me﹑I Went To Your Wedding也別改編成國語版的往事似雲﹑鳳仙花開及夢裡的新娘﹐是改編 Patti Page 歌曲最多的歌星。

I Love To Dance With You ﹕1955年Patti Page的歌曲﹐除了在一張香港出版的Golden Oldies On CD 3 合輯 (1988/Philips) 中找到外﹐便未見收錄於Patti Page的精選CD。國語版由姚莉主唱﹐名為今夜太神秘﹐並由逸敏合音。
