Georgia Gibbs - Seven Lonely Days / Kiss Me Another
早前曾說過﹐陪伴筆者成長有幾張翻版歐西歌曲唱片﹐它們不單是自己心愛的唱片﹐甚至當中的歌曲往往成為筆者喜愛音樂類型的根源﹐Georgia Gibbs 的 Kiss Me Another﹐ 就是另一首筆者的 All Time Favorites。
筆者能夠認識 Georgia 的歌曲﹐可算是漫長之旅。大約1980年當筆者對各歌手及歌曲﹐尚未深入認識之際﹐買了一張收錄達20首50/60年代老歌精選唱片﹐並且有 Kiss Me Another﹐誰不知當唱片在唱盤上一轉﹐發現原來是口水歌 (意思是由不知名歌手主唱的 Cover Version) ﹐當時那種失望又不憤的心情﹐至今仍記憶猶新﹐是筆者首次購買後覺得“非常”後悔的唱片。後來1982年香港寶麗金出版了一張 20 Original Everlasting Oldies Vol. 3﹐收錄了 Goergia Gibbs 的 Seven Lonely Days﹐筆者覺得她的嗓子很似演唱Kiss Me Another 那一位﹐不過翻查資料時﹐又找不到甚麼關於她的資料﹐直到1996年在HMV找到一張The Very Best Of Georgia Gibbs時﹐看到收錄的歌曲才真正得以證實。
The Best Of Georgia Gibbs The Mercury Years由美國 Mercury於1996年出版﹐收錄絕版歌曲達25首﹐也包括了所有筆者兒時常聽的歌曲。當年購買時﹐雖然感到價錢昂貴﹐但是CD盤轉著﹐揚聲器傳來歌曲時﹐那一種童年回憶與欣喜之情﹐實在非筆墨可以形容。也幸好當年買了﹐因為很快這張CD便告絕版了。

認識Georgia Gibbs及這CD時，它已經絕版了，而網上的賣價由US$35（二手）到
US$80（新碟存貨）不等（簡直是明搶！），因此只能向友輩借取原碟翻錄CDR。直到
上星期從GEMM網頁中發現有一美國唱片商有一新碟出售，標價只為US$8，在狂喜之下立即訂貨！到了12日下午CD到手，總共只花了US$13.69（包括郵費及commission）。Georgia Gibbs的唱功之佳不用多說，為她在這碟中伴奏的兩隊樂隊（Glenn Osser and Orchestra 及 Hugo Peretti and Orchestra）亦是一流。

Georgia Gibbs的Kiss me another雖然在美國不到 top ten 但在香港則上過香港的 top ten 頗長時間。那時聽這歌時當唱到 don't waste a night like this 這句後，最喜歡跟配音的男聲唱 boom ba ba loom boom boom ba ba loom boom boom 不知是否有好像kiss的口型和感覺哩。
隱約記得當時聽聞有某間修女主辦的女校不准學生聽或唱 Georgia Gibbes 的 Kiss of fire 和這首Kiss me another， 好像還有 Shirley Bessey 的 Kiss me honey honey kiss me 。如果是真的，我不知學校怎樣禁聽歌呢？可能那時有些女生在學校唱這些歌被禁止而已。不會搬唱機回學校吧！那時錄音機還未流行，而且用的是差不多唱片那麼大的錄音帶。

Glad to see this site. I've been searching everywhere abt Georgia's songs for long long time n finally I find it. But the worst is - this song : kiss me another is really hard to find. Now I know where this song hides, but can't buy the CD.
May be people's 'taste' of listening now changes that no one likes this song, or even no one knows this singer ??
Kiss me another is quite a song so popular in HK during 50's. Except short hours of boardcasting, just only one Chinese channel of cable radio (the Redifussion)couldn't satisfy people's demand. Thus, juke box were setting inside shops to atttract business by selling drinks like sugar cane juice, herbal teas...People walking by to hv a drink or to sit inside n drop $ to play the favcourite music. The voice of Georgia is so great that put this song sounds more popular. Though English was still not common yet, this song really freshes people's mind n played it everyday.
few yrs ago my friend bought me a CD contained this song n I was so happy that I almost knelt on the ground to express my thankfulness. Certainly my friend didn't know the original singer n to keep friendship I didn't tell my friend too. The CD bought in Bangkok was a cover version. I played only once n till today, it was keep on the shelf untouched

Thus, juke box were setting inside shops to atttract business by selling drinks like sugar cane juice, herbal teas...People walking by to hv a drink or to sit inside n drop $ to play the favcourite music. The voice of Georgia is so great that put this song sounds more popular. Though English was still not common yet, this song really freshes people's mind n played it everyday.
few yrs ago my friend bought me a CD contained this song n I was so happy that I almost knelt on the ground to express my thankfulness. Certainly my friend didn't know the original singer n to keep friendship I didn't tell my friend too. The CD bought in Bangkok was a cover version. I played only once n till today, it was keep on the shelf untouched

Dear Johnson,
I listened to "Kiss Me Another" when I was a kid, I found this CD during the 90's. You can't imagine how happy I was when I first heard the CD. Her singing was so special and had power. I really loved her singing so much.

Hi All
I have got that Best Of Mercury Year almost 10 years ago, but I was bloody angry with my sister, She took this CD to borrow to her friend and lost it...
Lucky thing was I found this one in 2 years ago to have ERIC Records re-issue, some songs are still not available in Eric compilation, however, it's better than nothing. My friend told he also found this CD on a CD shop in 9/F Time Sqaure and not very expensive at all. Go there to see & try your luck
