早前看到電視台的一個德國旅遊特輯﹐當時還以為為甚麼突然會有這樣的一個節目呢﹖而且還有涉及東西德時期的一些事情﹐還有一些德國人訪問﹐講述兩德時期的生活﹐直到昨天看到新聞報道﹐才知道原來柏林圍牆倒下了20年了。

以前唸書的時候﹐雖然喜歡歷史﹐但是對近代史沒甚麼興趣﹐尤其亞洲有日本的侵略﹐歐洲又有意大利及德國得半邊天﹐真是讀到昏過去了。後來二次世界大戰德國戰敗﹐德國又被一分為四個管理區﹐然後首都柏林好像也是﹐不過最終無論德國或首都柏林﹐最後都被一分為二﹐那又變成了民主與共產的對立了。

不過從近代史中﹐原來許多事情又不一定沒可能的﹐在1989年6月4日中國正有不幸的民運事件﹐可是事隔幾個月﹐歐洲方面一道把柏林一分為二﹑把兩邊生活分割成兩個世界的圍牆﹐卻在建立28年後被推倒了﹐一年後更使到東德西德再度統一﹐成為歷史上一個大喜訊。













記憶中對得當年的新聞報道還有些印象﹐不過原來轉眼間﹐64民運20年了﹐柏林圍牆也倒下了20年。1979年﹐Progressive Rock 班霸樂團 Pink Floyd﹐在團員關係極度惡劣下﹐完成製作了“The Wall”概念專輯﹐然而這張雙唱片集為他們帶來極大的成功﹐3年後英國導演Alan Parker更根據這張專輯﹐把它化身成為了一套電影﹐再度推出了OST。操控這張The Wall專輯製作的靈魂人物成員Roger Waters﹐在1985年離隊﹐然而在1990年7月21日﹐就是柏林圍牆倒下8個月之後﹐Roger Waters 邀請了一眾嘉賓在柏林舉行了一場慈善音樂會﹐把 The Wall 以 Live 形式在舞台上表演出來﹐更建起了一道550呎闊﹑82呎高的圍牆﹐作為舞台。嘉賓包括The Band 的成員Rick Danko﹑Levon Helm 及 Garth Hudson﹐還有 The Hooters﹑Van Morrison﹑Sinéad O'Connor﹑Cyndi Lauper﹑Marianne Faithfull﹑Scorpions﹑Joni Mitchell﹑Paul Carrack﹑Thomas Dolby 及Bryan Adams﹐再加上演員Albert Finney﹑Jerry Hall﹑Tim Curry 及Ute Lemper﹐並由 Leonard Cheshire 吹出WWII 的口哨作為演唱會的序幕。這張演唱會賣出了25萬張票﹐在音樂會開始時打開大閘﹐讓額外的10萬樂迷欣賞﹐又把該場兩小時的音樂會於52個國家轉播﹐之後即瞬速推出了 Live Album 及 錄影帶 (印象中還有 Laser Disc)。

該場音樂會在曲目上大致跟 The Wall 專輯相同﹐只是少了一個版本的 In The Flesh 及一首Outside The Wall﹐並在 Encore 時以 Roger Waters 的單飛作品 The Tide Is Turning 作為結終。

回顧80年中期到90年代初﹐當時有許多 Concert 都是星光﹐例如英國的Prince Trust 系列﹑還有Live Aid﹑Nelson Mandela 70th Birthday Tribute﹑Live at Knebworth﹐還有 這個 The Wall 等都是超好看的。當時我還沒有怎麼細心留意Pink Floyd 的音樂﹐不過印象最深是Cyndi Lauper 的Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 2 “癲婆”版本﹐還有古典音樂樂手 James Galway 出現於流行音樂會中。
