等到日後再度仔細的把舊CD拿出來聽，在幾十首西洋老歌裡，唯一能讓我反覆播放的就是Hotel California。尤其是從安德森之夢裡，藉著站長詳盡的歌詞翻譯與解釋下，反覆的咀嚼字詞間的義涵，則越聽越是上癮。

起先是被外表(旋律)吸引，最後愛上了她的內在(歌詞)，或許這麼說很老套，如同電影K歌情人裡Drew Barrymore形容的，歌曲的旋律就像是人的外表，想真正了解一個人，則必須去了解他的內在，就像歌詞，那才是一首歌(人)靈魂的所在之處。

也許這就是Hotel California能夠被奉為經典的原因吧！她所代表的意義與知名度，甚至超越了樂團本身，許多人也許知道這首歌，但不一定知道是The Eagles創作的曲子。根據在安德森之夢裡的翻譯資料，當時的樂團主唱Don Henley表示，這首是用以真實的反映出，他們身處在好萊塢的殘酷現實。各式各樣的誘惑接踵而來，性、毒品、物質與精神上的試煉。


當然對於初次聆聽的人，或是不了解歌詞義涵的情況下，這首歌所帶出來的氛圍與景象，對我來說，簡直就是徹底的公路電影。內容描述了，一位旅人在沙漠的公路上，暫宿在加州旅館的情況；無從得知旅人從何而來，或是即將前往何處，唯一知道的是他下了公路之後，卻永遠也無法離開這家旅館。旋律創造了整首歌曲的氛圍，詭異但卻異常的迷人，昏暗的紅色燈光、陌生的環境、充滿未知的夜晚。這些情景，意外的在我腦海留下難以忘記的畫面，而歌詞則是詳細的描述了每個場景的細節、年代，旅人的所見所聞，透過了詞語傳達到聽眾的心裡，背後的故事藉由象徵性的意義，讓聽眾自行發堀，增加整首歌的深度，形成了聆聽Hotel California時的另一項樂趣之一。

在這場Unplugged(不插電)，開場與結束時的雙吉他演奏，是帶起整個演出的高潮與完美的結尾，只能用"經典"來形容，這場演唱會的DVD及CD台灣有代理，專輯名稱為Hell freezes over。

另外這段的演出則是採用了電吉他來取代木吉他的演奏，開場改用了小號的高亢樂聲帶出。
