This article continues to illustrate the basic function of Google Sites.

The Format function

1. Clear Formatting
It clears the format set before, sometimes you need to set context to be format free and it is the quickest way to do this.

2. Heading
From H2 to H4, different font size for different headings, and it is necessary for "Table of Contents" of the "Insert" function.

3. Code
It represent the format of the "code", for example programming code, it turns green when you set context with this format.

4. Blockquote Code
It's the same with "Code" format just wrapped by a border.

The Layout function

There are kinds of layout format you can choose, you can not finetune the size of each column unless you edit CSS.











Manage site (in "More actions" button)
There are several functions in the function of "Manage site", I want to keep a brief instructions for "Site layout" here.












1. Change site layout







When click "Change site layout" button a pop-up menu emerges, you can set several parameters in this menu

You can find out that only blue areas are opened to edit, the yellow areas are either set in the page (refer to content above) or blocked not to be edited. If you like the side bar to be on right side you can set here.

3. Configure Navigation


Here you may set navigation function in the sidebar, while the "Automatically organize my navigation" is checked, the page will arrange the navigation automatically, with that you may set how many levels you want to show in side bar. Keep in mind that if you do not want to show some pages you can not check this box since it will show all pages in the range of level that you set. So if you want to put some pages and hide others, you can not check this function, you need to "edit" the navigation to set it manually.

Google sites is a simple way to estiblish a web site, by making best use of the built-in functions and pages, the Google sites fulfill most needs for a site. Keep an eye on the web sites you visit, if you find "Powered by Google Sites", the site is created and maintained by the Google Sites.
