April 77 is the name that Brice Partouche has chosen for his new collection. His motto is “no one likes skinny pants, but we don’t care”. A motto of many years ago, because today—to Brice’s great delight—skin-tight trousers are fashionable again. He initially began making clothes for himself and for his friends when he was still at school. They were part of the Parisian Punk scene, for which no one had decided to create suitable clothing. They therefore found themselves before the inevitable choice of making what they couldn’t find in the shops, taking inspiration from musicians like The Pixies or Elvis Costello. Now, Brice is at his third collection, which he designs, cuts and sews together in his studio in Paris. He continues to create skinny trousers for men and women, and jackets and shirts that recall The Clash, with a touch of Texan cowboy too. He has already dressed Iggy Pop, Ron Wood and Franz Ferdinand in their last video ‘The Fallen’.
