A letter from your customer

Yesterday, we went to Piin in Hsing-Chu for getting new frames for our flat wall.
After that, I have the idea to send them an e-mail.
Here is the e-mail.


Dear Cathy:
First, I have to apology to you if this e-mail cause you any trouble. From your company's website, your e-mail, as the project marketing, is the only contact information I can get. I hope you could forward this e-mail to the proper department or proper person from your company.

I shopped at Piin Hsing-Chu yesterday afternoon around 3 o'clock and had an unpleasant experience.

When I reached the counter, I saw a TSMC partner sign and I was interesting to know more if other company will get any special discount. The lady with long hair told me that discount is only for a pre-paid voucher. Then she asked me if I need to purchase a plastic beg. My answer was I don't need a plastic beg but if you provide paper bag I would like to have one since I purchase three big frames, two set of slippers, and other stuff. The answer from this lady was: "No. We charge you the paper bag."

Then she scanned the slippers and said: " They are un-returnable." From the beginning of her service, (well, I shouldn't say "service") I don't see any smile, I don't see any customer interaction, and I don't see any sense which make me feel she is GLAD to help me shopping from your store. It made me feel I shop at a wrong place. I had to suffer the porker-face to get the frame and stuff I like.

After all, I went to Jusco Supermarket and had a totally different experience.

First, the casher boy asked me if I got everything I need. I told him the plastic bag they provide for wrapping vegetable is too small for my cabbage and if they have bigger size bag. He ran to Vegi department and asked for solution for me. He came back with apology for the inconvenience and sorry about they can't provide a better wrapping service for shoppers. I appreciate his greeting, I appreciate his smile, and I appreciate his company hire a well-trained customer-relationship representative to serve a not-so-royal customer at that time.

But, you know where would I shop for my grocery next week.

I like Piin. It is a great place to shop. I like the space and style; also I like most of your designs and products and dream they will fresh up my daily life. I write this e-mail for you because I think you have the right to find a good employee who has passion to help and enjoy work. I write to you because I still hope my next visiting to your store will still grateful when I still have the temptation to shop from you.

Before I call it off for today, I got e-mail from this Cathy lady.

Dear Miffy,
Thank you so much for your letter, it's a great help from you to let us know what we should improve. I have transferred your letter to our store manager Pinky Chen. She willreact to the service's flow and tell you the following up. Thank you again for your letter and wish you will be back to our shop soon!!!

回到部門了.不能用IM的悲劇

早上九點到,門口進出的人數和昨天明顯的相差好多,
問了新同事,她也說九點之前到就可以了,真是好消息一件.
第二件好事,本部門的尾牙將在下個星期一舉辦,
居然被我趕上,呵呵呵~~~
公司的聯歡晚會沒趕上,有吃的就被我趕上,
就算沒摸到什麼奬,也應該偷笑了.嘻嘻!
不過人家說新人的運氣都會不錯,
像昨天我”同梯的”一個小男生部門尾牙,他就抽到一個中奬,一個小奬,
去登記名字的時候,大家還不知道他是誰哩.

四點多就回到部門,
看起來,以後的苦日子少不了,工作聽起來超多的,
經理看到我,連說:妳終於來了,我們一天到晚在唸啊....
其他小組的同事也說:哇,妳們小組終於有新人了...
當然啦,我則是黑線連連,臉部抽搐不止...

工作區域的電腦密碼還沒跟祕書拿到,
據說她今天去忙下星期一晚上的大事了,
看來明天才能拿到一些文具啊什麼的.
有點担心像這樣天天弄文件的工作不知道做得好做不好,
重點是” 坐得住坐不住 ”,
像我這樣喜歡往外跑的人,
真不知道自己撐不撐得住.
而且又加上阿比又要在三月出國,
真叫人好生羨慕,
就是沒有人叫我去做sales啊,
唉唉唉...

今天上了資訊安全的課,
果然,所有的IM都不能用,
連要連上去都有問題,
還不知道瀏覽其他的網頁會不會怎樣,
其實只能瀏覽和自己業務有關的,
好嚴格哦~~~
悲劇啊...
不能用MSN和SKYPE,
金是悲劇啊!

又是菜鳥一隻!啾啾!

今天第一天,
進園區時,金地是滿坑滿谷的車子啊,
我早到了十分鐘就在門口吃起高麗菜包,
大廳有一些人也不知在等什麼,
後來才知道原來都是和我一樣今天報到的大菜鳥!

交了一堆相關證件,每個人發了這兩天的課程表,
早上當然是由管理部的人blah blah blah blah,
中午在七樓吃便當,七樓有全家便利店和誠品,
還有IS Coffee,看起來生意超好的.

下午的課程重點在防火的安全措施,
看得出來好多年前的一場大火,
對這個公司影響很大,
現在它反而是成為園區最重視防火和時時演習的公司,
我們每個人要從二樓使用逃生梯和正確的使用滅火器,
果然,事情一落到自己的頭上就完全不是那麼一會事了.
全身肌肉馬上僵硬,脚要去踩逃生梯好像都踩不到,
覺得自己好像智商低了十級,
拿滅火器時,我看別人拿得好像輕輕鬆鬆的,
結果,我都快要提不動,更別講滅火了,
還好是教官助我一”滅”之力,
不然,我看我就要火燒屁股啦~~~

要走之前在電梯遇到Sandy,就是我以後的指導員,
她非常高興地說:”明天下午四點妳就會回到部門了,我們都好期待妳來喔!”
我:”真的嗎?好高興哦!”
Sandy:”對啊,因為工作好多哦,都快做不完了...”
我:” (黑線中.......) ”

Always, the uncertain first day from the new company,
I hope this time, things will work out....
I can work on what I am happy to work with
or, at least, work for a company has clear policy,
concern and appreciate all employees' accomplishments.

God bless 2005

最後一天,氣溫冷得人終於覺得有一點冬天的味道,
本來要去弟那吃火鍋,後來改期,
可是,不吃一下火鍋,好像無法擋住這冷,
只好包得像粽子一樣出門.
這天氣,可真是...冷啊~~~
果然,所有有賣”xx鍋”的店,排隊的人都排到外面了,
好不容易找到一家,不管三七二十一,先吃了再!
呼~~熱湯下肚,身體馬上曖了起來...
呼~呼~呼~

回家的路上,市區內很多地方被封起來,
我們才發現原來有跨年晚會,
當然,我們去湊了一下小熱鬧,
雖然,真的是冷得耳朵都要掉了.

2004年,我們回到了台灣,
再度回到這片土地,重新開始新的生活,
2005年,我也會到新的公司上班,
到一個新的城市生活,
我想,一切都會平安順利的.

Live happy
Enjoy life

見客戶

今天去了三家Dave的客戶,第三家,櫃台小姐擋了下來,說是老闆明天才會回來,和我們約中午十二點,所以我們留了名片給她,要她如果時間有變動的話打個電話給我們.

後來我們說要去show room看一看,幸運的Dave和一個老伯說話,結果他居然是老.闆.的.爸.爸.他一通電話,就叫老闆直接和我們談,老闆就在樓上,剛剛送完德國的客人,哈哈!果然擒賊先擒王,我們馬上被召見,還得到了咖啡.可以馬上談到,金是太棒了.哇哈哈!

一聊就聊了三個多小時,這叫Sean的老闆一看就是老奸型的人,他明明就在樓上,卻叫樓下總機說他不在,明天才會回來,然後東說西說都說他們沒鑽什麼錢,我們準備要離開的時候又忽然拿出他跟別人的訂單給我們看,都是大量的下單,Dave說他一個都賺了快1塊多美金,其實我們在第二家問到的販售價才誇張,他們從台灣買過去的價錢不到R100,可是賣給市井小民卻是R500,而每個月的月租頻道費則要R400一個月,不是真正的市井小民可以負擔得起的.

今天走高速公路到沒有跟昨天一樣迷路到不行,但是吃的東西卻是找不到,在美國大使館附近,看到一家Pizza店,想說好吧買一個應該夠吃了吧,結果拿到手上只是一個23公分寬的餅,還好,還蠻好吃的.

就在要回去旅館的路上,一個紅燈停下來,我東看西看前方想找看看有沒有商店,一回頭,一個黑人整個人貼在我的玻璃窗前,張大了眼看著我,我真是當下驚嚇得可是說是魂飛魄散,他口中不知在念什麼,我則是臭罵Dave没有把門上鎖.第一次在路上被人嚇成那樣,我那時真的是整個人都跳了起來.唉!幸好出門來南非之前有和小宏去饒河街的媽祖廟,不然神明沒保佑的話,我可能七魂六魄都在南非路上了...靠!真是嚇死人了啦!

當然啦,總是要做個啥事來壓壓驚的,Dave開了昨天買的白酒,Swartland Winery出的今年份的Chardonnay,粉不錯喝呢,有柑橘類的清香,入口後又有一點香草的回味,而且才不到4塊美金,比晚上買的Pizza還便宜吔!嘖嘖嘖!Dave說我們來代理進口一些南非酒好了,不知道市場上都種類有哪些了.這倒是可以好好考慮考慮,不然茶類也是可以的,受到英國的統治,其實在飲食文化上也得到不少的影響,今天也買了一包有100個小茶包的紅茶,聞起來就蠻香的.

迷途Pretoria

原本想不會在約堡租車,阿福到了機場又覺得每天的計程車花費一定不少,為了自己方便行動和替公司省錢的考量之下,還是租了一台車. 

重點來了,我們問好了價錢,簽好了單子,推著行李上了車,一台紅色的Toyota Tazz 奇怪的車種吧,台灣沒有,美國也沒有,我猜是為非洲或歐洲的型,一發動,那聲音聽起來就完全不是新車的聲音,我當下覺得這些大黑人會不會在里程表上動了啥手脚,那,也就算了,它居然是手排車!

如果在台灣,開手排車是沒啥大問題,問題是,人家是走英式交通規則,大家都開左邊,我們初到寶地要適應這不同的習慣,可不是一下子腦筋就可以轉得過來的,事實證明我的預言沒錯,在路上果然發生了一些被家人知道會被罵死的事.

人生下來就是為了解決問題,好吧,當下退了車找了另一家租車公司,美國的連鎖店,總有自排車吧,深藍的Nissan Almera跟著我們上了路,沒錯,又是一個台灣沒聽過的車型,不過,我們覺得和Sentra其實是很相像的.

如果不是為了找路,我真想好好拍一拍天空的雲,廣闊的平原和清澈的天空,真的是很美,可是找路這事,完全被南非奇怪的交通標誌給搞得我髒話連篇.尤其是高速公路上還有人在路上遊走,開車的人一直要注意這事和一直要提醒自己,不要開右邊的內側車路以免擋了開快車的人的路,不過,還是挨了不少白眼!又再加上我們沒有一份當地的細圖,為了找一條路,問了四個黑兄弟,完全得不要正確的指引,最後還是找了小白,一問便知.晚上後來大迷路,也是找了一個小白,才有辦法回到旅館.

這事提醒我們,找路問路,還是找個小白省自己找路的時間.問小黑人得不到正確方向的最大原因是,那奇特的口音和用字.例如traffic light他們講robot,害我們一直不懂,路上為何有“機器人”.高速公路上的路標用白線在表示,我們常不懂到底畫的是什麼.原本40分鐘的路程,我們晚上吃完飯要回去時,足足迷了一個多小時的路,到後來,我完全不知道我們在城市的東南西北,又加上下起驚人的大雨,真的是六神無主可以形容.決定不管樣,找一本細的當地地圖是萬萬必要的.

說到這裏,我真的覺得南非的觀光局,在世界各地有推廣中心,徧徧在它們自己的地盤,國際機場,卻是連一張歡迎光臨的紙都看不到,原本我想在機場找地圖和旅遊資料的如意算盤可真是當下跌破.

對於我們住的Pretoria,還沒好好看看這城市,不過從旅館的大窗看到對面的Union Building真的是很美,看看這些天的行程,待我來探險探險.附待一提,在機上喝到好喝的白酒,真是喜出望外,大家知道機上從來沒有什麼好東西下胃的,所以今天瞎逛了一個supermarket發現白酒和果汁一樣便宜,那Ceres果汁,在台北是高級貨,在這裏和白開水同價,葡萄酒的價錢比可口可樂還便宜,那...還需要告訴您我買了什麼嗎 ??嘻嘻!!

I don't see the path. It is cloudy.....

I surf one website collogue Zoe passed to me.
A website can download MP3 music.
The very next day, Giarwen brings her CD collection to share with us.
One of it is the soundtrack of Spirit Away, one of famous carton movie from the Japanese director and carton filmmaker.

One piece of the music represents the white dragon carries the young lady home.
When they are flying in the sky, everything becomes peaceful and bright.
For that moment, they forgot who they are, just enjoy the best moment to be together.

I am thinking about what I did for the pass week.
The only thing I do is study.
I search from the web the topic about Data Mining, CRM, and Call Center.
I try to understand those materials from phase one but I don’t know if I can comprehend them.
I don’t get any chance to participate with this project.
I don’t feel I contribute to this project.
I don’t get any responsibility on this project.
I don't get any useful trainning from this company.
Overall, they don't provide any trainning.
I talk to my previous supervisor, he said,
"We don't have tranning. You are on your own!"

I feel like I am US soldier in Egypt.
The commander of Egypt tells me I have to learn to use Egypt-model-machine gun.
I know how to use machine gun, but I don’t know the description written on the Egypt machine gun.
So even I know how to shoot machine gun, I have no idea how to handle this one.

I don’t see my path in this company especially it is a totally male world.
I see there is a gap between the top-level mangers and the employees.
I see all other middle-level mangers and team leaders rush in and out for their tasks but I don’t see mine.

I hate this feeling.

十五號了

今天是十五號,不敢相信三個月的時間,
居然也被我熬到了,真的是可喜可賀啊.
上個星期才知道可能會調去支援另一個系統,
主要的內容在於客服(CRM),Call Center和Data Mining.
其實好像也是我之前一直想要學的東西.
我想台灣許多領域會越來越重視客戶服務這個部分,也許這也是個轉機.

中午得知可能會搬到四樓去坐,又要換位置!
希望這次不要有人再跟我擠了啦!!!
發現現在一堆小道和八掛都在主管還沒有和當事人談前,
就風風雨雨的沸騰了,換Team的事是一件,換位子的事也是一件,
這故事告訴我們,要和祕書們和Junior們打好關係,
才會有源源不絕的內線哪!!

剛在收Gmail的信,居然發現一個功能,
我問朋友有關LCD Monitor的價錢和型號,
這Gmail居然也能湊上一脚,在旁邊給你來個“友情贊助商”,
好像你和你朋友在咖啡廳聊Monitor,
旁邊一個人忽然冒出來講說:喂,我知道哪裡有好貨喔~~~
恐怖吧,嚇都嚇死你.
不過現在它這個“偷看”的功能只能用在它“會”偷看的,
打個中文,它可就沒辦法囉,
我去查了其他的中文信,果然如此,
然後我去看它“友情贊助商”的定義,發現Gmail當然會解釋說,
不不不,我沒偷看喔,只是我的科技太讚了,
可以“讀”出你心裏在想什麼,沒有“人”會看你的信件喔.
去,再來啊,再此地無銀啊.
不想受到熱情的贊助商插話的用戶,還是好好用中文打吧,
至少,短時間,Gmail去學中文的人可能沒那麼快的功力吧!

Anyway,Congratulation to me for passing the first three months working in the city. Already survive for three months, still have 300 months to go!
