IV - An Interview Gone Awry

I couldn't shake off that feeling of worry as I walked into the building.

'She said she wasn't feeling ill, so she shouldn't faint again?'

At the same time I could recall so very vividly the warmth I felt in the embrace of that girl. I turned quickly to see where I had come from, only to find that she had walked across the street, and regretted that I hadn't asked her for her contact details.

At the same time I could recall so very vividly the warmth I felt in the embrace of that girl. I turned quickly to see where I had come from, only to find that she had walked across the street, and regretted that I hadn't asked her for her contact details.

'The world is so full of people, we may never see each other again'

And carrying that regret, I continued on my journey into the building.

"Hello all! Welcome back to "Garden in the Sky" I'm the Garden DJ Matsumoto Kiyoshi!"

"When the programme started earlier, we did mention that a special mystery guest would be joining us. She has now arrived, so let us now welcome the famous pianist Miss Chikane Himemiya!"

The crowd were immediately in an uproar of applause!

"Thank you Mr. Matsumoto. Hullo everyone, I'm Chikane Himemiya, and I'm very pleased to be able to meet everyone here at "Garden in the Sky"

"This show is very honoured to have Miss. Himemiya here, taking time out of her busy schedule for her first exclusive interview since her return to the country. Miss Himemiya has always kept a rather low-key profile, and her return to Japan was shrouded in much secrecy. It was said that the media were waiting at the airport yesterday but missed you?"

"My schedule has always been organised by my PA, so I wouldn't know if it was intentional, plus my main reason for coming back to the country was to participate in the weekend fundraising concert for the SE-Asia Tsunami-relief charities. Is something this ordinary enough to arouse this much interest in me from the media?"

"Miss Himemiya is far too humble - you have lived abroad for many years and you're rarely seen in public, so you're very mysterious as far as the media are concerned. You are exceptionally talented musically - your CDy has attracted innumerable fans. If only others were as fortunate as myself to see you in real life and admire your beauty and elegance, I believe that there would be even more admirers falling to the floor in your presence, so..."

Matsumoto hesistated midspeech - wondering if he had overdone his praise..

"Mr. Matsumoto is too kind, but since many music fans have listened to my CD, why don't we start talking about what I will be performing at this concert?"

Chikane was keen to return to the original topic of the interview.

"Your performance pieces are already well known to the public I believe, there will be other fans like myself, who would like to know more about what the single Miss. Chikane is looking for in her other half? Because, the person who eventually does become this role must be the luckiest person ever in this world"

Himemiya realised that the interviewer already had his own agenda - was he trying to announce to the public that he had fallen madly in love with Himemiya Chikane after only meeting her for the first time?

Faced with such a persistently irritating interviewer, Chikane couldn't help but start to feel somewhat annoyed. However, she paused for thought upon hearing "looking for in her other half". Scrapping her original "I've never really thought about it" answer, she said:

"I would like my other half to be sincere and kind, and more importantly - someone who can give me as much warmth as the sun." Perhaps she had thought of something, Chikane's face broke into her wonderful smile when she said this. She continued...

"The studio is rather cold, indicating that the person with such a quality isn't present. So, shall we start talking about the charity concert instead?"

Matsumoto recovered himself upon seeing Chikane's face lose its smile, her blue eyes staring coldly at him and continued his unfinished 'real' interview.
