The Promise

The rather awkward interview was finally over, and Mr. Matsumoto bowed as if to apologise for his inappropriate behaviour. I smiled and automatically reached out to shake his hand goodbye. Nothing much more was said, and as I stepped out of the recording studio, I saw that Otoha was already waiting outside for me.

"Ojou-sama must be tired now?"

It had only been half an hour, I couldn't help but feel that Otoha was being alittle over-protective.

After seeing Ojou-sama head downstairs, I immediately got up and changed seats to one next to the window, waiting for her familiar figure to appear. Although I knew she was only leaving for a very short time, the distance but a street away, I still couldn't wait to see her again, to savour the time when I could look after her. Whenever I was away from her, it felt like I was walking alone in the dark, unable to find that beam of moonlight which guided my path - worry, confusion would rise unbidden in my heart and I would all sense of direction. I stepped into the office of our magazine still preoccupied with recent events, only to be met by the editor Nishimura Asami, who was smiling from ear-to-ear.

"Himeko! Hurry up and pass me your camera! I can't wait to see what the only daughter of the Ootori-group boss really looks like!"

"Thank you! I will be right there.."
