La galesa Jem regresa con nuevo trabajo discográfico, "Down to Earth", el segundo de su carrera. "It's Amazing" es el primer single del álbum, un tema aparece en la banda sonora de la película "Sexo en Nueva York".

Colaboran en el disco el productor de hip-hop Jeff Bass y Greg Kurstin (Kylie Minogue, Lily Allen). El cantautor sudafricano Vusi Mahlasela, hace un dueto junto a Jem en "You will make it". Otro de los cortes, descritos como con un toque más latino es "I want you to...". En total son 12 las canciones que componen el disco.

Jem lleva cantando y componiendo canciones desde que tenía trece años, en su casa siempre tenía un pequeño equipo de grabación, y todo ello le ayudó a decidir convertirse en cantante. Sin embargo, siempre mantuvo en secreto lo que ella consideraba un sueño, incluso cuando terminó el instituto y se matriculó en la Universidad de Sussex.
