新聞稿-規畫簡易英語村,情境教學生活化

(北縣訊)本學年度民安國小獲選為教育局活化課程第一批實驗試辦學校,雖然沒有像英語村的龐大經費挹注、聘任外師駐校、許多空餘教室運用之下,上學期活化課程國際文化學習,以社團方式進行多元化教學,有歌唱、繪本、標示語、拼字、戲劇、說故事等方式,以學生自主為原則,學生可以自行選課,進行能力分組,打破過去英語課上課的舊思維。 經過教師討論修正之後,本學期就簡易英語村概念,在教材設計上,以食、衣、住、行為主題,透過實踐社群不斷對話,擬訂出句型與單字,設計出縱向的動態課程。在情境佈置上,挪出四間閒置教室作為情境教室,簡單的擺設與標示語,讓學生進行實地模擬,進行角色扮演,藉由簡單的對話解除恐懼的心理,大聲的說出英語。在課程領導上,教務主任朱富榮利用週四與英語活化討論對話,規劃了「食」到附近麥當勞及肯德基點餐體驗學習、4/8喝美錄愛運動(英語教學律動闖關活動)、設置網路教學平台、5/9運動會學生英文作品展、6/20「衣、住、行」親子闖關等系列活動。
在活動評量上,拋開紙筆式的傳統測驗方式,注重溝通能力之培養,聽、說為主;招募志工參與活動,讓學生透過活動、遊戲練習、分組競賽,提高學習英語興趣。 上週三六年5班、五年9班、五年7班在彭筱婷、呂佳雯等老師的帶領之下前往學校附近的麥當勞與肯德基進行實地教學,讓英語教學與生活結合,他們以平日教師教學的對話點了最愛吃的漢堡、薯條、冰淇淋、沙拉等。
四月1日永佳樂第四台記者將到本校進行採訪,拍攝學生在情境教室學習情形,以及六年6班、六年11班、五年2班、五年4班在高千茹、陳姿樺、陳惠雅、陳亭君等老師的帶領之下,到速食店實地教學。陳奕璇老師表示,學生們非常開心期待上這門課,學生的表現充滿學習的動機與興趣,在與導師的協同教學之下,更開闊學生學習模式。 校長廖文彬表示,簡易英語村概念是目前最夯的學習方式之一,免出國、生活化且具有實用性,透過遊戲、對話、表演等活動,強調聽與說「溝通」的能力。因此,學校將持續推動對學生有意義的學習活動,培養國際觀視野,未來將閒置教室充分運用,讓每位學生英語能力都能夠提升。 教務主任朱富榮說明活化課程目前是教育局推動政策之一,學校會設計更周延的課程,將陸續透過廣泛討論、對話、溝通、反思找到最適合的方式,安排多元教學活動,提升學生未來的競爭力。

Ming-An elementary school was one of the schools chosen to join the first year of the Taipei County experimental program.During the previous semester, we taught the English courses using groups, implementing activities such as singing, picture book-reading, spelling, drama, story-telling, etc. Students can choose the course they want depending on to their ability and interest. This semester, we designed the English courses according to four main themes: food, clothes, accommodation, and transportation. We decorated four classrooms according to these four themes respectively and turned them into practice rooms so that students can learn English by role-playing.

We also designed a lot of dynamic activities to enhance students’ interest in learning English. During these three weeks, we will bring our students to go to Mcdonald’s and KFC to experience ordering food in English. On April 8th, we will invite MILO to come to our school and hold English activities with students. On May 9th, we will hold a sport meet and display our students’ works at the same time. On June 20th, children and parents altogether can take part in an English adventure game. We also set up a website to enhance the connection between students, parents, and teachers. Because we make the improvement of our students’ comunication skills our top priority, we evaluate their performances according to their results in these activities.

Some teachers have already brought their students to Mcdonald’s and KFC to practice ordering food in English. A lot of residents and parents followed with interest. Students used the conversation they practiced with their teachers to order their favorite food, such as hamburgers, French fries, ice cream, salad, etc. Miss Chen said that the students are too impatient to wait for this activity and she appreciated their performance a lot. This interesting activity broadens our students’ way of learning.

An easy and simple English village is one of the hottest ways of learning English. The lively learning environment can not only raise students’ English ability but also cultivate their international view. One of the important policies of the Taipei County Education Bureau is this experimental program, which aims to enhance students’ competitiveness in the future.
