Canon EOS 450D, Sigma 18-200mm, ISO 1600, f9, 1/160s

So, 365 days in Saigon has already gone by... yet I am still here.
I still remember that rushing week in 2008. I came back from 4 weeks of trainings in UK, then got sent to Vietnam within one week time.
No time to really say good-bye, I had to get my VISA, book my ticket, pack up, and fly to this country which I would never thought of visiting... Before I realize it, I already landed in Ho Chi Minh City, a.k.a. Saigon.
I remember it was an afternoon China Airlines flight. I remember the first place I checked-in was Bong Son Hotel, the first person I met in HSBC Vietnam was Kim Tran, and the first night I had my dinner at BunTa.
Although there were only 365 days gone by, but somehow I felt like there were at least 1,000 things happened during the past year: I built up my client portfolio, got a few deals done, and took a few business trips. Vietnam experienced a rocketing inflation of over 20% and has no USD liquidity in the foreign exchange market. I traveled to Ha Noi, Ha Tinh, Hue, Hoi An, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Mui Ne, Vinh Long, and Da Lat. HSBC got local incorporated in Vietnam and a few senior managements have changed. I made some Vietnamese, Taiwanese, and Chinese friends here. I went back to Taiwan to recharge a couple times. I did my first scuba diving and first foot massage in life. In Hanoi, I ran into the biggest flood in 40 years, and in Saigon, someone almost robbed my mobile phone on the street. My famiies and friends all came to visit me, including Karen, Joseph, Sea, Sheena, Evelina, Kowei, Christina, Jessie, and Frank. On my first birthday in Vietnam I bought the first Vietnamese pop CD for my own present because Pham Thanh Thao looked sexy on the CD album......
Then here we are, April 1st 2009 already and I am still here.
It was definately NOT part of the plan to stay here for more than one year, but I guess somehow the situation hasn't called it an end yet. Like I said, I haven't seen the beach of Phu Quoc and the village in Sapa...
Therefore, another 365 days. Let's start counting down again.
Would there be more things happening this year!? Oh, you bet~!

10 Amigo "Best Steak in Saigon"
AIMGO Grill Restaurant
57 Nguyen Hue Street, District 1, HCMC
(8) 3824-1248
===========================================================

Canon EOS 450D, Sigma 18-200mm, ISO 800, f16, 1/400s

Canon EOS 450D, Sigma 18-200mm, ISO 200, f6.3, 1/100s

09 My Way
My Way
83 Ly Thuong Kiet Street,
Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi
www.myway.com.vn
=====================================================
Beer Bar & Restaurant "My Way".

09 - The girl on Dong Khoi

06 - Reunification Palace (Hoi Truong Thong Nha)
