105 Proof轉換成常用的酒精濃度約為60%,一款酒歷經40年儲陳居然還有如此之高的酒精度數,
確實有些非比尋常!
原來,早期的Glenfarclas會將new make spirit不加稀釋便直接裝填入桶,
酒精濃度約在74%上下,不過即便如此,酒桶還是得受到極為良善的保存,
狀況才會如此之好,我們看看前段日子Glenfarclas所出The Family Casks中的1968,
酒精濃度更高達65.1%,或許這種陳年效果對於Glenfarclas而言實屬”常態”吧!

周休假期有難得的好天氣,相當適合出去活動活動快要生鏽的身子,
不過由於出門稍晚,因此挑了一條交通時間耗費不多的路線,大桶山、烏來山。
10:10分從忠治公車站牌出發,這條路徑大概也有10年沒來走過,
依稀記得登山口在忠治村內的民宅旁,不過延著產業道路穿越部落,卻一直沒有發現登山口,
隨著高度不斷爬升、心裡越不踏實,不過就在猶疑自己是否走錯之繼,路標出現了,
至此心中終於踏實下來。

此外也得感謝Eric的邀約才能有機會品嘗到這款表現傑出的Glenfiddich Vintage。
由於受邀的僅Kingfisher兄與我,而地點便在William Grant & Sons台灣分公司品飲室,
因此感覺頗為輕鬆。

Glenlivet 25yo其實是品飲會時的第三款酒,前面還有一款Glenlivet 12yo。
席間Peter讓大家猜測這款酒所使用的桶型為何,其實這款酒起初儲陳於波本桶中,
之後再換至First fill的Oloroso雪莉桶中進行為期兩年的Finish,
由於先前恰巧看過這款酒的資料,因此已經知道答案,故在品飲會時也不好說甚麼,
因為那樣感覺像在作弊!
