Widely considered as one of the premiere violinists of his generation, Bell is joined on this studio release by the celebrated musicians of the Academy of St.Martin in the Fields, who toured the work with him prior to the recording sessions.

外型俊美、氣質清新的約夏貝爾，1967年出生於美國印第安那州的布魯明頓市，四歲開始學小提琴，但是他的興趣與專長並不侷限在樂器上，玩Game、電腦組裝、賽車、網球，樣樣精通。提前進入印第安那大學後，師從金果(Josef Gingold)，14歲就與當時的慕堤指揮的費城管弦樂團合奏。畢業後移居紐約，並成為SONY BMG專屬藝人，巡迴演出與錄音行程滿檔，是美國古典音樂界最頂尖的全方位世界級演奏家之一。

約夏貝爾不但專精於19世紀如薩拉沙泰、帕格尼尼等作曲家艱難超技的曲目，同時他也對當代作曲、草根民謠（與馬友友、馬克歐康諾、艾格麥爾）、蓋希文、伯恩斯坦的音樂，也跨足到電影配樂（紅色小提琴、等愛的女人），多次得到奧斯卡金像獎與葛萊美獎的肯定，2007年還獲頒代表美國古典音樂界最高榮譽的Avery Fisher獎。

Just over one year ago, Joshua agreed to be part of a cultural experiment that examined art and context that was conducted by the Washington Post. Joshua, dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, performed in D.C.'s L'Enfant Plaza station during the busy morning commute. The experiment turned into a Washington Post cover story titled "Pearls Before Breakfast" which created an international firestorm of discussion about how we appreciate art, and specifically, music. On April 7, 2008 it was announced that this provocative think-piece by Gene Weingarten was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Feature Writing! 一開始拉的是高難度的巴哈Chaconne，然後是舒伯特"聖母頌"、龐賽"小星星"跟馬斯奈的"泰伊斯瞑想曲"等

結果43分鐘過去只有7個人停下來欣賞、27個人給了錢、他總共賺了32.17美金，另外有1070人匆忙經過
只有一位女性認出他並上前跟他談話(看姓應該是日僑)
最後貝爾先生還自己笑說「換算下來時薪有40元，這還不算太壞。以後可以靠這行糊口而且還不用給經紀人抽成」
