Google搞一中 "新聞事件 後續報導"

全世界知名搜尋入口網站Google，在新增的地圖（maps）查詢中，將台灣列為中國的一省，此舉引發台灣獨派的強烈不滿，在網路上發動抗議。據了解，Google雖一度修改過來，但只持續幾天，又恢復原狀。這兩天，獨派重要網路媒體「南方快報」再度出現一人一信去函要求更正，抗爭到底。
在Google的地圖查詢中，只要點選進入台灣地圖，上面即清楚註明是中國的一省「Province of China」。事實上，在Google的網站上，總計有一萬八千一百筆中國地圖，無論是行政、地形、投資、旅遊乃至酒店地圖索引，也都將台灣納入。
署名「酥餅」的獨派民眾，最近在南方快報發起抗議Google運動，深獲迴響。但由於Google日前又悄悄將「Province of China」加了回去，獨派在網路動員一人一封英文信，強調「台灣是個獨立的國家（independent nation），不是中國的一省，全世界認為台灣是中國一省的國家只有中國」。
抗議信還提到，不管中國的經濟實力如何強大，都不應該對像Google這樣的高科技公司要求寫些什麼、不能寫些什麼，Google本身也應堅持呈現事實才對。
南方快報標榜是「全球第一份台灣立場的電子報」，由現年六十多歲、筆名「馬非白」的新聞工作者邱國禎，拿出當年離開報社所得的資遣費獨立辦報。

Dear Google:
In your map listings, I noticed that you list Taiwan as a province of China again. Please remove "Province of China" from the list of Taiwan.
Taiwan is an independent nation and is not a province of China. The only country in the world that thinks that Taiwan is a province of China is China. Other countries have kowtowed to China's fantasies, but the reality is that Taiwan is a state with its own government, own elections, its own currency and its own defined territory. Taiwan negotiates its own treaties and has its own president. By definition, a province of a country, can not and does not do this. Listing Taiwan as a province of China is vehemently wrong and a blatant insult to the 23 million people of Taiwan.
As a hi-tech portal site, Google Maps should strive to list the truth. Your listing of Taiwan as a province of China, smacks against this principle and appear subservient to China's territorial ambition.
Again, please remove "Province of China" from the list of Taiwan.
