Seattle-U District: 印度餐廳 - Cedars

說真的我一開始吃印度餐的時候為的是去喝印度有名的香濃芒果優格飲料 (Mango Lassi), 但是吃過幾次後也愛上印度餐裡多種新鮮香料合成的特殊香氣. 對印度菜不是很有研究, 但是我知道要是印度菜一用不好的香料, 佐料過重, 或材料不新鮮, 實在很難吃.

這家我跟妹妹很愛去的, 位於華聖頓大學 (Univ of WA) 附近的印度餐廳: Cedars.
他們的菜做很爽口, 材料新鮮, 多種香味和辣味在舌尖上彈的感覺很棒.
我覺得要是沒吃過印度菜的人又 不想花大錢嘗試的話, 這家可說是印度菜初學者餐廳.

這間餐廳沒逢週末晚上一定得排隊, 在等座位時可以逛逛他們迷你型的印度雜貨小店



我必點的芒果優格飲料 (Mango Lassi), 而老妹最愛又可以無限refill的印度奶茶


愛吃辣的人可以加的印度辣醬和醃芒果醬


開胃菜: Tabboleh.
非常特別的沙拉: 是巴西里, 番茄, 青蔥, 和小黃瓜全部切細細,
再混點 Bulgur Wheat (似小米的東西), 然後淋上萊母汁和撒上酸梅粉的清香沙拉


沙拉配上Pita麵包


開胃菜: Bombay Tandoori Chicken Wings
辣雞翅配上香菜醬和Tamarind醬


我喜歡沾香菜醬


我們另外點的印度麵包: 蒜味的 Garlic Nan
又鬆軟又香


主菜: Lamb Vindaloo (羊肉咖哩)
Vindaloo是印度咖哩的一種, 有點橘皮香的


咖哩附送用新鮮黃薑調味的米飯


可是我顧著用 Garlic Nan 沾, 真好吃!


很難想像我和老妹就兩個女生竟然吃了這一桌菜


餐後不知怎麼的, 老闆送我們兩人甜點: Marble Nut Halvah
別桌都沒有喔, 很驚喜
結果我們問服務生這是什麼時, 那年輕的美國人服務生雖然態度很好,
卻虎爛我們說是一種白巧克力甜點


結果我們兩個吃下後笑死, 因為根本沒有巧克力在裡面嘛,
是花生和芝麻做的甜點, 很像貢糖, 蠻好吃的

下次你再去吃時,可以幫我問問老闆嗎?

有一種炸起司之類的家常菜(很普遍的印度菜)

吃起來會以為是"豆腐"

就是一個盤內有好多個cubic 白豆腐(起司)和很好吃的醬汁

好可惜我都忘了菜名 要不然妳們可以試試吃看看

Yeah, that "tofu"-looking thing is cheese, I don't like it that much though.
a lot my american friends eat it as a vegetable dish

老美愛吃的 我不一定喜歡吃

用烤的 我也不愛吃

以前的印度老師娶了台灣老婆 常住台北

有次跟他去吃飯 他都點印度菜卻是台灣人會愛吃的菜

還寫了菜單名給我 嗚嗚 我都不知道塞到何處

加油 Verano回到西雅圖 繼續介紹好吃的 好玩的

我都想好了 等我日後飛美國 也可以考慮搭Air Canada 停溫哥華
去阿拉斯加 租車進西雅圖 然後再飛國內線

呵呵 做計畫旅行的夢

裡面的服務生有沒有包的跟印度人一樣呢？
在台灣最常看到的好像是墨西哥菜（我吃過的啦）

這家印度人沒有包頭巾, 妳說得是印度的一種種族才有 ^^
印度菜不錯, 不過第一次吃的話是有點運氣, 因為難吃的店也很多, 難吃的時候就很可怕～～～

賓州不是蠻多異國文化的嗎? 我以為會有很多外國食物呢

我家Mr.Lee一吃印度菜就會吐, 所以我不能這麼常吃...

喔, 我都不知道台灣有好吃的印度料理呢, 有機會回去也要去看看
對丫, 西雅圖有印度餐廳, 而且西雅圖人很雅否, 很喜歡吃外國菜, 印度菜很受歡迎
才說勒! 我看完妳那篇差點衝去吃.. 可惜朋友都在忙, 所以我只好在家吃沙拉... 嗚!

We're going to Cedars tonight!
I love their Mango Lassi, it's the best treat you can get.
Their Chai was pretty good too.
I'm from Tainan, when Nick was in Taiwan for that year,
whenever we go down to Kaohsiung, we have to stop by at the one and only Nick and Lina's big time favorite Indian restaurant called Spice Shop. It's the only good one that i've been to. Good enough to compare with Cedars. : )But of course, they're all mind blowing.

oh yes! Their mango lassi is fabulous! I'd go there just for the mango lassi.
Yeah, that's a very curious thing. Cedars don't give out the sesame treat to all customers. Last time, I looked around and no other tables got them. Maybe they do only offer them to Asians? hahaha... ^^
I always order their garlic nann. Maybe I'll try the spanich one you recommended next time.
