我曾經答應過某人要開始寫
Manic Street Preachers的歌詞翻譯及註解，但是因為英文實在太差而放棄，最近終於抱持著寫錯也有人糾正，這樣也算是一大進步的心態，開始寫了。由於還是有搖滾小說的計劃纏身，所以這個東西也不知道能持續多久，請大家加減看，我會盡力的把我想翻譯的寫出來的。
“Faster”是他們第三張專輯”
the Holy Bible”的第九首歌，也是單曲。這首歌充滿了龐克般的怒吼以及美式吉他Riff的演繹。歌詞中採用早期Manic Street Preachers一貫的態度------消極絕望以及憤怒。如果以詞作的精妙度來說，Faster只屬中上，但是這一首歌的詞作意境充分展現出已故吉他手Richey Edwards的生活意境以及價值觀，尤其是一句”I know I believe in nothing but it is my nothing”更是有如龐克革命般的怒吼宣言。
歌詞中還是宣揚著他們所相信的傾社會主義以及強烈的左派思維，除了闡述道理之外，他們還是在憤怒地謾罵社會的漠不關心和冷漠，甚至傳來了厭世的陣陣迷霧，讓他們當時被受批評，也被不備重視，但是”Faster”卻是整個專輯的主軸，因為它狂傲不羈地罵出許多人心中的不快。而相對的，歌詞的文法緊密，用字譬喻深淺恰當，固十分難解讀翻譯，如有不通順的地方，請大力的糾正，讓我能重新學習，謝謝嘍~

註一。這句話是John Hurt說的，他是在電影1984中扮演主角的男演員。而電影正是改編自George Orwell著名的反烏扥邦小說”1984”而來的，裡面敘述著未來時代人民受到老大哥的監控，一舉一動都受到控制，是著名的反獨裁，反法西斯，反共產預言小說。
*這裡只指的是人名，Richey的意思是，他那些充滿爭議的作家都來的強。那些作家有些是宣揚法西斯主義，有些則有精英主義、種族主義，或是有大美國主義、大資本主義等傾向，Richey Edwards一律都給予他們唾棄。
