美國華府展覽: 映像中國 (至2010年1月9日)
美國華府的 Folger Shakespeare Library 是世界最著名的莎士比亞圖書館, 這星期有新的展覽開幕, 非常精彩, 叫做"映像中國", 專題展出珍貴的善本書和文物, 都是關於文藝復興時期莎士比亞時代的歐洲人 (從傳教士利瑪竇 Mateo Ricci 始) 對於中國的想像的 (明清兩代), 同時還有多采多姿的影片照片展, 追溯十九世紀以來華人怎樣想像莎士比亞 (改編, 翻譯, 演出, 電影, 默片), 從歐洲和亞洲的角度探討這豐富的文化交流史. 整個展覽完全免費開放, 展到 2010 年 1 月 9 日, 如果經過 Washington, D.C., 值得一遊. 這佛傑圖書館在黃金地段, 就在國會和高等法院對面. 星期一到六開放, 地址: 201 E Capitol St SE, Washington, DC; 靠近 Capitol South 地鐵站, 電話: (202) 544-7077
英文說明: Shakespeare and his contemporaries imagined China as a land of wonder, of riches, and of enormous opportunity. Since the nineteenth century, Chinese artists have engaged Shakespeare in have engaged Shakespeare in their works in a wide range of contexts ranging from fiction to cinema and popular culture. Rare books and maps from the Folger collection, along with items from the Library of Congress and the Walters Arts Museum, and videos and stage photos capture four centuries of cultural exchange.
