The nationality or nationalities of MYJ is always a myth.

Surely he has the ROC nationality. Yet no evidence proves MYJ renounced his Permanent Residency of the US. Like almost all persons who have the PR do, some people think he'd meant to applied and have the citizenship of the US.

DoS and AIT had no comment on this.

台灣人民的呼籲

有鑑於台灣人民面對台灣國家定位的困境和台海情勢的轉變，尤其是美國總統歐巴馬即將與中國國家主席胡錦濤會談，可能論及台灣議題，台灣前途與人民之安危陷入險境，我教會除了對台灣人民的憂心焦慮，感同身受之外，也基於「我們信，教會是上帝子民的團契，蒙召來宣揚耶穌基督的拯救，作和解的使者，是普世的，且根植於本地，認同所有的住民，通過愛與受苦，而成為盼望的記號」的信仰告白，再次發出呼籲。

台灣長期面對中國一千三百多枚飛彈與年年擴張的軍事威嚇，以及其在國際社會中對台灣參與世界組織之阻撓，台灣人民倍感生命遭受威脅，國家主權和人民人權受到侵犯。台灣人民擔心，台灣若被極權中國併吞，不僅多年來努力建立的民主體制行將毀壞，全體人民的福祉亦將耗損，亞太地區的安定與和平，也必受到極大的威脅。

台灣人民熱愛自由，也珍惜目前的民主成果。台灣人民不願意生活在極權統治之下。這可以從目前有八成以上的台灣人民反對被中國統一的各種民調得到佐證。台灣人民堅持秉著公義與和平的原則，捍衛人民自決的權利。

我們確信，人權是上帝所賜。人民自決也是「聯合國憲章」的原則，及「世界人權宣言」所保障的權利。為此，我們呼籲美國政府重新檢討其對台灣與中國的政策，正視台灣與中國互不隸屬的既存事實，並協同全世界愛好民主、公義、和平的國家，共同阻止中國使用武力，或其他方式侵佔台灣。我們同時呼籲國際社會，重視台灣人民的心聲，協助台灣以主權獨立國家的身份，積極參與國際事務，使台灣人民對全人類的正義、和平、進步，與幸福，有所貢獻。

「世人哪，耶和華已指示你何為善。他向你所要的是甚麼呢？只要你行公義，好憐憫，存謙卑的心，與你的　神同行。」〈彌迦書 6：8 〉

看過《華麗假期》的人，都應該體會人民那種追求公義、人權、民主的渴望，但也會驚覺到單憑熱誠的行事，無視外在變化常會失敗。
朱立熙先生是台灣少數專注韓國事務的新聞先進也是教授，其對韓國的理解之透徹與堅持令人敬佩。正值518「光州事件」週年紀念（後不久）、朝鮮違反UN禁令試爆核彈、盧武鉉自殺身亡，以及台灣人權大倒退時貼出，別具意義。

The choice of autocracy or democracy is the belief of static or dynamic social equilibrium. There lies a solid boundary between them. China, under the strict control of CCP, seems very hard to across the line from the static realm to the dynamic.
