最近剛播出的這一集"Damages" （金權遊戲），字幕翻譯出現了一個小錯誤。雖然不至影響觀眾理解劇情，但是出現的譯文可能會讓觀眾覺得突兀。

在這一幕描述Ellen Parsons正坐在辦公室裡為了文件焦頭爛額，Patty Hewes走了進來並和她聊了幾句。Patty Hewes臨走時，看了她桌上一眼，對她說："Those bookends are hideous. Take them home."當時的字幕翻譯是：「那些書的結局都很令人討厭 / 帶回家去」。Ellen Parsons看著桌上，附和Patty Hewes的意見。雖然Patty Hewes總是咄咄逼人，講出這樣的話似乎也沒什麼好奇怪的。不過，律師的辦公室桌上會擺小說嗎？尤其在這麼精明強硬的強人手下做事，怎麼可能會把小說大剌剌地擺在桌上呢？

我想，譯者可能誤會"bookends"這個字了。其實，Patty Hewes嫌棄的是桌上的自由女神像「書檔」，而不是批評書的「結局」。"bookends"就是一般用來整理書籍排列的工具，中文稱為「書檔」。

剛好想到一首Simon and Garfunkel在1968年發行著名專輯"Bookends"的名曲"Old Friends"，歌詞裡描述老朋友坐在公園長椅上，就像是擺在兩端的書檔。不過感傷的歌詞在Simon and Garfunkel悠揚的歌聲中，卻轉化成充滿哲理的樂章。

同一張專輯中，還有一首"Bookends Theme"的演奏版以及另一首"Bookends"的短歌。這是他們於1981年在中央公園的演唱版本：
