Introduction

The international sports event "World Games" has finally light up the island on the Pacific Ocean.  Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, which holds the biggest event ever with glory since it won the host in 2004.

About The City

The biggest harbor, the biggest heavy industrial district, above are the images of Kaohsiung City a decade ago.  As the second largest city in Taiwan, Kaohsiung owns 1.5 million people in the metropolitan, and most of them are blue collar workers 10 years ago.

The city has changed herself into a new image of "Arts, Water and Lights" in this decade.  New architectures rise while the old appearance transformed into modern spots.  Especially the water line "Love River" which crossing the city made the most incredible renew process for the stunning announcement to the citizen.

Water and Light makes the "Kaohsiung Lantern Festival" become one of the largest event in Taiwan.  Besides, Kaohsiung City use its identity of industry performs the "International Container Arts Festival" , and the traditional origin of religion "Wannian Folklore Festival".  Various activities full filled the 365 days in Kaohsiung city with her colorful image.
