英譯練習: 尋隱者不遇 (唐詩)

尋隱者不遇
賈島

松下問童子
言師採藥去
只在此山中
雲深不知處

弗潤翻譯:
Failed to Find the Solitary
Dau Jia

I ask a boy under a pine tree where the solitary be
The reply is the master went for herbs' collecting
Though the master be right in the mountain
the boy can't locate him for the mountain's foggy and cloudy


下面是我在網路上找到的詩句原文解釋:

“松下问童子，言师采药去。”
松下，指在松树底下。言，说的意思。采，采集。
这句的意思是：我寻访隐者，在松树底下碰到了一个孩子，那是他的小徒弟，我问他师父的去向，他说师父采药去了。

“只在此山中，云深不知处。”
只在，就在，肯定的语气。云深，云雾迷蒙。
这句的意思是：他就在这座山里，可是由于山上云雾迷蒙，我也不知道师父到底在什么地方。

詩名: 寻隐者不遇
作者: 贾岛（779—843），范阳（今河北省涿州市）人，唐代诗人
