第三段 Montfermeil，1823

地點轉換到Montfermeli這個地方，小Cosette與Thenardiers夫婦同住在她們所開的旅店當中已經有五年，Thenardiers夫婦對待Cosette 非常刻薄，簡直就是拿她當下人使喚。此時Cosette正一邊打掃一邊夢想著，唱出Castle on a Cloud，但小Cosette的美夢很快被打斷，尖酸的Thenardiers太太走了過來，要Cosette出外到林中打水，Cosette請求不要讓她獨自一人 在黑夜外出但仍被Thenardiers夫婦的寶貝女兒Eponine推了出去《Castle on a Cloud》。

Young Cosette is working as a drudge in the Th幯ardier's inn at Montfermeil.

Aren't any floors for me to sweep,

There is a room that's full of toys,

Nobody shouts or talks too loud,

She says "Cosette, I love you very much."
