這回想嘗試做點立體裝飾，想起自己有保麗龍球，便取二顆，用牙籤串起。本來想做紙帽求簡便，但既然圍巾是不織布材，帽子也應是布料才能一致，於是花了些時間縫製這頂帽子。

手工線書

自己很喜歡DIY，手工書的手藝會的不多，這一本手縫線書是多年前學得的，最近剛好有機會分享給銀髮族以及外國朋友，古書的樣式很得他們喜愛。

作法不難，若要改成西式紙張，也是行得通的。

Charlotte's Piggy Bank-II

今天再與另一孩子看Charlotte's Piggy Bank，從圖畫中我們找到諸多新發現，其中最與故事相關的，是最後一頁的右上角，看到另一男孩也拿著一隻Piggy Bank，啊，又有另一個人要被騙了!

Howard很興奮自己從圖畫裡找到很多"故事"，驕傲地對我說：「妳要和我一起看(圖畫書)，才會有新發現。」

當初看 David McKee 的 Charlotte's Piggy Bank，是有看沒懂，上週再找出來唸給學生聽，看主角Charlotte的小豬撲滿最後竟展翼而飛，Charlotte眼睜睜看著所有的錢就這樣飛走，那惜手不及的突然，與當今身陷金融風暴的投資人很像，看著大把大把的錢瞬間就這樣蒸發消失，這一切簡直像是被開了一個大玩笑，哈，這樣聯想就懂了。

不同年齡層看圖畫書，體會也不同。

Celebrate Steig in November

William Steig網站給了這麼一句, "November is Steig's Month"，就Steig的成就與所受到的肯定，這個月的確是屬於他的，(但網站上寫今年是他的百年紀念，咦! 不是該是第101歲了嗎?難道是我的算法錯誤? )

甚至今年 2008 Society of Illustrators兒童插畫獎，正好在此月宣布，由William Steig獲得終身成就獎。(註)

Lightship

圖書館有新書上架前，早有默契的館員會主動地通知幾位熟面孔，我也是常受照顧的一位，樂得當一位新書借閱者。看到成堆的書，興奮的情緒就漲得高昂，為免有遺珠之憾，當下會先快速地把每本書翻一遍，有得獎標籤的也是個挑書的方向，就像多了一道品質認証，不管是否符合自己的胃口，但多認識一位作家或書裡的資訊也無妨。
