1989年Morrissey發的Interesting Drug單曲，是Morrissey自1987年Smiths解散之後，他較早期的單飛作品。大家都說Morrissey的歌詞傳承自王爾德，雖然我覺得這有點不公平，凡是有文藝味又有才華的gay都和王爾德有點關係嗎？總之，Morrissey除了是一位憂愁自溺的文藝青年，也是一個有批判力的左翼青年。

新馬克思學者們常使用的詞彙譴責受害者(blame-the-victim)也在這首歌中幻化出現。差別在於Morrissey關心的是年輕人吸毒問題，而新馬克思學者關心的是非裔美人和西裔美人等弱勢族群的幫派及私販毒品問題。事實上，不幸皆出於既得利益者。

我充滿了佩服和感嘆的心情由衷認為，就算說Interesting Drug幫Bourgois的From Jibaro to Crack Dealer作了一遍精簡摘要也不為過。
