提起關於超級市場的 歌曲，我就會想起英國龐克樂隊The Clash經典專輯「London Calling」(1979) 的名曲"Lost in the Supermarket"，在超級市場裡迷路。但有幾個人會一邊買東西一邊思索著資本主義體制呢？哈哈，至少我沒那麼厲害。City Centre Offices合輯「Cashier Escape Route 」(2000)很切合印象中超級市場的氣氛，明亮的燈光，冷凍櫃陣陣涼意飄散，琳瑯滿目堆成玲瓏寶塔的貨品。

這張合輯十七首曲子，圍繞"超級市場"的主題，全新打造的概念合輯，也是一個絕佳的試聽樣本。包括Skanfrom、Solvent、Isan、Dynamo、Phonem、 Arovane、The Remote Viewer等德國電子音樂廠牌City Centre Offices和Morr Music旗下藝人，還有To Rococo Rot和Pole等強手助陣。除了Arovane和Skanfrom的作品有歌聲，其他都是演奏曲，古樸奇趣的Moog旋律，斑駁嗶波的復古電子音色，加 上八０年代synth pop節奏，有著淡淡可愛的童稚氣息。

Skanfrom的"Electronique Supermarket" 是合輯裡我最喜歡的歌曲，彷彿英國八０年代Soft Cell時期的Marc Almond歌聲唱著「The town I live in is so boring....but on the corner of the street... there is an electronic supermarket..... where I can by the things I need」，消費極樂後隱隱泛起的虛無孤寂，沒錯，我買故我在。這首歌也具有The Clash的批判潛力，不禁拿出塵封已久的「London Calling」，對照歌詞跟著Joe Strummer酒醉茫然地大唱，我在超級市場迷路了！

相 較於龐克搖滾透過歌詞表達強烈訊息，ambient環境音樂從Brian Eno著名的「Ambient 1 Music For Airports」(1978)等系列作品所提示的，可以作為機場、電梯、旅行等背景音樂。還有個很貼切的詞，wallpaper music 壁紙音樂，是與光線，空間配置，顏色等氣氛營造的組成分子。而lounge沙發放鬆僅是電子音樂眾多用途發展過程的一個階段。事實上所有的音樂皆可依隨情 境和心情成為背景，所謂BGM是找到最切合當下的音樂，喚起心中潛藏情感，這也是DJ與配樂師最重要的工作。這張合輯可能不適合在商場播放，但在血拼回家 後聽聽此類復古電子，別有另一種滋味。
