This is THE CURE: Part 5, The Top
“Wake up in the new blood
Make up in the new blood
Shake up in the new blood
And follow me to where the real fun is…”
“Shake Dog Shake”, The Top

1984年的巡迴陣容:Phil Thornalley(貝斯手)、Porl Thomson(吉他、薩克斯風、鍵盤)(註1)、Robert、Andy Anderson(鼓手)、Lol。

1984年的巡迴陣容:Phil Thornalley(貝斯手)、Porl Thomson(吉他、薩克斯風、鍵盤)(註1)、Robert、Andy Anderson(鼓手)、Lol。

The Top
看看歌名,這張專輯簡直像歡樂動物園:“Shake Dog Shake”、“Birdmad Girl”、 “The Caterpillar”、“Piggy in the Mirror”、“Bananafishbones”,歌詞中也充滿動物的意象;我想Robert這時期如此愛用動物作為譬喻,反映了他對自己最原始那一面的摸索與探討吧?
Wake up in the dark
The aftertaste of anger in the back of my mouth
Spit it on the wall
And cough some more and scrape my skin with razor blades
And make up in the new blood
Try to look so good, follow me…
Dressing up to kiss
Dressing up to touch all this
I’m dressing up to dance all week
I’m dressing up to sleep
Footsteps on a wire
High above my head
The stain reveals my real intention
I’m the waiting beast
I’m the twisted nerve
As I dance
Dance back to the body in my bed
Slick the cats like cheese
Then eat the sweet sticky things
Suck harder
Suck harder
Such your insides
Insides out…
Disappear everywhere and watch me
Pull my lips apart
Exploit!
Inspire!
Encourage!
Be responsible for this…
Please come back
Please come back
Like all the others do…
Please come back
All of you
Shake Dog Shake (live in Orange)
Piggy in the Mirror (live in 1984)

lushlulu,
Thanks for sharing the videos! They're great and Robert's super cute! They look so happy on stage. Looks like you were at the front row? I have to say I'm really envious! ;)
And have you managed to get the ticket to RCMH? I believe the two shows in NY will be fantastic. No matter what, you've got the Shrine, which is definitely a show to remember. I love that setlist so much.
Also, thanks for your compliment :) I just try my best to introduce my favorite band. If you're interested, the next one will probably be posted within this week...I hope!

lushlulu,
I hope you did manage to see them at RCMH. The setlist was GREAT! But seeing it's the last show of the tour, such setlist is expected. And I heard that Robert got quite playful and climbed onto a balcony...LOL! He ROCKS!
I've already downloaded the Fuse show. :) I suppose you know the website Chain of Flowers? I go there all the time and that's where I get my Cure information from. I learned about the Fuse show from there, too.
You know what, I didn't know any Cure friends until lately, and most of them are foreigners. I can't believe it. But now we know each other, together we can talk about The Cure all the time! :)

You know what? I think I saw your message on COF about your experience (correct me if I'm wrong). All I can say is that you're really lucky! I saw the video clips on youtube of him walking up to sides...soooo cute!! My favorite part is when he pretended to be falling over...LOL!! And Forever is just unreal. Again, I've already seen a clip of it and it's very very powerful and emotional. Can't imagine how it feels to be there...I believe I'd cry! If you upload those pics and vids, please don't forget me ;) I'd really love to see them.
I check COF constantly and I post there, too. I think it's quite a nice place for Cure fans :)

yep, that was me. i know...i'm very lucky sometimes! ;)
i've uploaded my pics and videos. as i only got in halfway there're just a few.
yeah...cof is really a great central place for us fans. it's a bit odd craig did not go to a show this tour...though he obviously spent so much time for the site. i was looking at the cure site and saw that robert thanked cof for posting videos, so that was nice.

Thanks for the pics and the videos. You have the video of Forever! It's amazing that you recorded the complete ending of A Forest and Forever - feels like you knew they'd play it ;) Thanks so much for sharing it :)
Yeah, it was nice for Robert to acknowledge COF for posting the videos. And it's interesting that he (or the band) seems to check COF sometimes...
BTW, I added you as a contact on flickr :)
