Using the stethoscope as a hearing aid
The stethoscope is always used by the doctors to diagonise a patient. Wang Wen-Lin, a nurse of the Veteran General Hospital, discovered that the stethoscope can be used as a hearing aid for old people! However, I guess that when using it, you should not shout aloud. Hearing test
As more and more sounds are happening in our living environment, the volume of our voice is increasing. Have you noticed that? Have you been wondering if our listening ability has been affected? Is it you talking too softly or I cannot hear you well? ^_^
According to BBC, Dr John Low from RNID (The Royal National Institute for Deaf and Hard of Hearing People), UK has designed a way for the general public to do a test on hearing at home. It also tells you how to access further treatment.
Curious? All you need to do is to make a phone call from a house-line (not applied on mobile phone), dial: +44 (0)8456005555 and then follow the instructions. The call will take 5 min. (Hello! Think carefully, it's an international call to the UK!)

This is very scary: These researchers can detect your typed text by analysing the tapping sounds of your keyboard!
Sooner or later, when people are more aware of sounds around them, we, the field recordists will have difficulties in micing around the public environment! ha-ha! ^_^
