音樂是這世界上最美好的事

沒有人規定我們一定要過這個節日。如果你很不幸也被迫妥協、認同、內化...whatever。至少你很有幸的是愛音樂的。因為聖誕歌曲比農曆過年歌好聽太多，而且我們總是不愛聽百貨公司放的那一種。

最近聽到一個美國加州鄉村搖滾歌手叫Kate Gaffney，今年十月發行首張專輯《The Coachman》。為了共襄盛舉一場On-Air Christmas Party，她必須唱一首聖誕歌，或寫一首聖誕歌。然而16歲在聖誕節心碎的經驗（這就是〈Last Christmas〉在紅什麼的原因吧），實在讓她對聖誕節不怎麼起勁，甚至當年心碎的回憶還會在此時湧上來。於是，這首〈A Round of Christmas Cheer〉就變成這樣了：

Kate Gaffney這首歌的溫緩質感，正讓我聯想到Joni Mitchell；而好巧不巧，她的MySpace裡剛好有一首歌叫〈The River〉，與Joni Mitchell的那首憂鬱聖誕歌〈River〉字面上還真像。所以聽著聽著，不由得再播起Joni Mitchell來，這正是讓我愛上她的那一首歌呀。

這世界是不會有佳節愉快這回事的吧。
