Strokes的海灘男孩分支：Little Joy



從加州的海灘上躍起，身體沾滿沙粒，仰望波光粼粼的遠方，男孩女孩還在衝浪。老式收音機傳來Little Joy的聲音：「天生註定，我終將屬於你。」為什麼，這個夏天總是如此酸甜的混合？

聽著Little Joy，你很難想像這又是另一組紐約後龐克復興班霸The Strokes的分支；就在2006年第三張大碟《First Impressions Of Earth》發行後，The Strokes團員們便紛紛開啟各自的Side Project...

包括流行搖滾老將Albert Hammond之子、吉他手Albert Hammond, Jr.陸續兩張好評個人專輯，鋒頭最健的主唱Julian Casablancas與菲董合作Converse球鞋廣告曲，貝斯手Nikolai Fraiture也另組獨立搖滾團Nickel Eye…這回終於輪到鼓手Fabrizio Moretti。

他與巴西獨立樂隊Los Hermanos主腦Rodrigo Amarante相識於葡萄牙里斯本，兩人一拍即合，各自離鄉背井來到充滿陽光的加州洛杉磯，並加入甜美嗓音女主唱Binki Shapiro，取自當地小酒吧名的Little Joy焉然成形！

PS.八卦：女主唱Binki Shapiro後來就變成Fabrizio Moretti的女友啦。







首張同名專輯《Little Joy》邀請怪怪民謠雙傑Devendra Banhart、Joanna Newsom製作人Noah Georgeson執掌，不但有Devendra Banhart擔綱合唱〈Don't Watch Me Dancing〉，就連電影【鴻孕當頭】主題曲〈Anyone Else But You〉原唱Adam Green，以及The Strokes吉他手Nick Valensi也前來助陣〈With Strangers〉！

開場〈The Next Time Around〉流露著些許雷鬼風味，依偎身旁，談一場甜蜜的夏日戀愛；〈Brand New Start〉順勢奏起小喇叭，跳躍輕快的復古華爾滋；〈Play The Part〉傷感的空心吉他，拾回傑克強森般的簡單民謠；〈Keep Me In Mind〉粗糙的低傳真質感，吉他錚錚爽朗，似有Albert Hammond, Jr.個人作氣味；而男女對唱曲〈Don't Watch Me Dancing〉則宛如搖籃曲，哄著你甜美入眠。

團如其名，Little Joy交織著海灘的快樂歡愉，以及一抹淡淡的惆悵，融入夏威夷、牙買加與Bossa Nova的世界脈搏，這個夏季末即使酸甜，也擁有微微歡樂。（by林貓王）

這張不是隨便唬唬人的好聽啊！這The Beach Boys招牌的陽光滋味，也太自然了點！Strokes分支有那麼優異的表現，其實第四張專輯也是可以等等...哈哈。In time I'll belong to you / It's how it meant to be / and how ti's always been. 甜甜蜜蜜快融化啦！

很喜歡女主唱Binki Shapiro淡淡的聲音，不知怎地讓我想起Yo La Tengo的Georgia Hubley。大鬍子Devendra Banhart也在此唱起副歌。

    到是剩Nick算是這段期間最銷聲匿跡的...Fab說the strokes 09年就會再回錄音室錄音了...希望是真的,畢竟side project再好,我還是期望看到五人合體的the strokes!

    當初就是因為Nick Valensi要去照顧家庭所以才暫停Strokes
    結果大家卻紛紛開始玩Side Project
    而且還玩得很不錯 哈哈哈...

    Yes Fab is great! Honestly,.. I think he is good enough to sing more in this side project of his. I will always rember his redemption song from the old days!
