音樂是這世界上最美好的事

從封面陰暗可怖的《The Execution of All Things》聽起，再進入封面童趣可愛的《More Adventurous》，Rilo Kiley給我的流暢聲音線條，一直都能縈繞在心頭，並隨之哼唱。起源自洛杉磯的四人團體Rilo Kiley，由Jenny Lewis、Blake Sennett、Pierre de Reeder、Jason Boesel所組成，團名眾說紛紜，有人說是Blake在宣傳首張專輯《Take-Offs and Landings》時作夢夢到的南斯拉夫人的名字，有人說是蘇格蘭的運動員、澳洲橄欖球選手、總之是在運動年曆上隨便找的。不管如何，Rilo Kiley對我來說就是個好聽的名字，擺盪在搖滾、民謠、鄉村之間，以Jenny Lewis略帶黏膩、轉音豐富的嗓音，譜出一首首真摯的歌。

從原本的獨立廠牌Barsuk轉到Saddle Creek，自創成立Brute/Beaute再到與華納簽約，即將於8/21發行的第四張專輯《Under The Blacklight》可是讓人備受期待。去年Jenny Lewis與The Watson Twins合作發行的《Rabbit Fur Coat》成績不俗，鄉村味道十足的風格，賣破十萬張、更登上Billboard第88名，成績比Rilo Kiley更好；而Blake Sennett與Jason Boesel也沒閑著，他參與的Indie團The Elected也發行了《Sun, Sun, Sun》專輯，個人認為相當爽口悅耳。


結果卻出了差錯。Rilo Kiley釋出了新專輯的主打歌〈The Moneymaker〉，猛然一轉的風格改變，誇張的吉他彈奏與重鼓，聽起來一點也不熟悉。唉咿？是因為加入了主流廠牌嗎？心中的問號不歇。〈The Moneymaker〉的MV還請來色情片明星，清涼辣妹、金錢誘惑等橋段重複出現，讓我腦中不斷想起N年前，民謠女聲Jewel也搞了個Christina Aguilera模樣，被消防車噴水噴得全身透明...那樣的尷尬心情。（備註：話說我其實是很喜歡〈Intuition〉這支MV的，消遣諷刺味大過了所謂的商業操作手法，但第一次看時不免心驚驚）

於是我很努力的想要喜歡〈The Moneymaker〉這首歌，但是怎麼也喜歡不起來。千幸萬幸，我聽到了第二首〈Silver Lining〉，熟悉的RK漸漸回籠...啊，希望接下來的歌也能保有如此的幸運！

忘記上面那首，聽這支吧。正點轉音、輕巧Pop！這才是Rilo Kiley嘛！〈Silver Lining〉的歌名我想高中有被英文自修荼毒的應該會知「Every cloud has a sliver lining」這句成語，意思就是說「每朵烏雲都有閃耀的銀邊（陽光）」，不管再怎麼衰都會有好的一面...奇怪奇怪，怎麼上起英文課來了，更，反正這首俏皮的歌其實是在說，女主角曾經是情人的閃耀陽光（只會為了對方付出），但現在她成為了黃金（Gold對比Silver）開始為自己著想，甚至希望彼此的愛情該是結束的時候了（As when i willed our love to die.）。是有那麼點感傷，但真的太好聽了，推薦給大家。
