音樂是這世界上最美好的事

我無法不記得《跳躍時空的情書》的開場。

藍色的調子，惆悵的樂音，是The Clientele的迷離憂鬱。彷彿完整說明男女主角橫隔著時空，四年的距離，難以相遇，難以在一起。這首歌叫做〈(I Can't Seem To) Make You Mine〉。

雖然影片到女主角在廣場與人聊天時，就已經猜到即將會發生的劇情；我不喜歡太過美好的結局，更討厭基努李維的撲克臉。但也許是開場曲的小小顫動，讓我忘了挑剔東挑剔西，任由擺弄，思忖著兩人如何遇見，並相愛。

我想起上一次看愛情電影的緊張情緒，是《第三者》(Wicker Park)繁殖出來的。很巧呀，這部片的音樂「據說」由喬許哈奈特主選，囊括了一堆我的最愛Mazzy Star、Death Cab For Cutie、The Postal Service等團。很爛的中文片名，看之前完全沒料到會是如此緊湊動人，音樂再加乘上去，乖乖我的媽，大驚喜一個。



回到The Clientele這張專輯《Strange Geometry》，無須多說什麼，它有著Galaxie 500的嗓音質地，更添上些許輕快的民謠味，在自以為沒事其實卻有事的愁容裡，綻放黑暗夜空星星，有一閃沒一閃的失焦狀態。
