Dear David,
If you stop building ships,that will be a inconceivable loss to modelers.
Please forgive me not reply your mails immediately,I got a bad headache and heavy cold during past week. I enjoy receiving your any kinds of message. I love your USS S.B. Roberts, it remind me " Is my wash too heavy?"
As a household husband, modeling can remind me don't lose my dream and avoid yelling my two wild kids all the time.
Please ignore the building date, it's nothing and just a record for myself.
In these two small ships, I used color pencils to simulate kinds of rust. The result seem not so bad. Most of all, it's very easy to handle. For your reference.

I like your wash! I have opposite feeling - my wash and weathering is done too little. Everytime I plan to put more wash, more rust and heavier weathering, but I am afraid. My friend (figure maker) screaming on me often: " David, it is too little, too little! You must do it more and heavier, it is small object". I agree, but I have not courage. I will try to be more courageous on Mikuma or Essex.
I will try to use pencils too, my daughter just started in primary school, so we have pencils everywhere...

OK - no Gundams. But I already bought two 1/72 Macross fighters via Hobby Link - really good models! I thought it will be some kind of toys, but YF-19 or VF-0D (Hasegawa) looks better than their normal 1/72 aircraft.
But the ships are the ships - there my heart beats!
I will send to you and Jeff pic of my secret project (secret, because I am not sure, if I will finish it sometimes...)

因為一般塑膠件的比例都太粗了^^只好自製
自製的原則以"目視"為原則^^
有線圖就比對線圖
沒有就從照片抓比例大小的感覺
