跟Ani DiFranco的原唱相比，Soulive的翻唱僅改了兩個字，也就是前兩句將原唱中的"I"改成"You"，並由於男女主唱的不同，整個調性也就呈現戲劇性的效果：

Ani DiFranco的詮釋帶有點女性主義的意味，強調『自己就是一個Joyful Girl』，而Soulive則是表達出『遇上一個Joyful Girl』的心境，妙吧！
