認識我比較深的朋友大都知道我最崇敬的音樂家只有兩位，一是Beethoven，另一位就是John Lennon。Lennon在二十五年前的今天(Dec 8, 1980)在紐約上西區家門口 (Dakota Building)遭遇不幸，不曉得若Lennon活到今天能否影響這個世界更多?

每年這時候把他的LP唱片與CD拿出來聽一聽似乎已經變成一種儀式，今年當然也不例外。明天下班後要去台中度個小假順便過過生日，帶什麼音樂過去放呢? 那就來點激烈前衛的Sometime in New York City/Live Jam吧，雖然不常聽，但光想像Plastic Ono Band與The Mothers of Invention的組合想必會很過癮的。也把Live in New York City帶去好了，是的，那張CD裡有那首Imagine等可以讓我吟詠許久的名曲。

Living Colour
Time's Up

來自紐約，許多樂迷一直把他們定位成唱重金屬的純黑人團體，其實他們絕非池中物。他們後期真的是因為江郎才盡而淪為普通樂團，但在處女作Vivid與Time's Up時期他們則是紐約下東區頂尖的實驗樂團之一。每位團員在組成之前都大有來頭，如吉他手Vernon Reid曾是Ronald Shannon Jackson實驗爵士大樂隊的一員，也曾與Bill Laswell合作。這張專輯延續Living Colour一貫尖銳的政治態度與直言批判的歌詞，加上商業取向的流行旋律。雖然沒有當初前作Vivid所帶給樂壇的衝擊，但也是值得一聽的佳作。
