前衛民謠顧名思義，就是在傳統民謠創作上增添新意，如編曲結構、合聲與器樂調度使用上。這是雙cd一網打盡二十多年來數種成員時期的精選輯，可謂俗又大碗，頗值得有心從各種搖滾進入英國六十年代前衛/迷幻民謠的朋友參考。除了可以聽到Sandy Denny、 Richard Thompson、 Iain Matthews等人合作的經典以外，還有一些從未收錄在正式專輯的單曲。
