When the Bodhisattva was born, subtle wind, which was refreshing and pleasing, was rising from the sky in the four directions. All directions were clean and brilliant without obstacles of smoke, cloud, or dust to one's eyes.
When the Bodhisattva was born, natural wonderful Buddhist sound was from the sky playing by no one.
When the Bodhisattva was born, various music from the heavens and all kinds of sound of singing were sounded naturally up in the sky. All kinds of celestial flowers with various fragrance were raining down. They would not wilt under the merciless sun. These are rare and unusual events of a Bodhisattva.
When the Bodhisattva was born, each of the devas in heavens held countless blue lotus, red lotus, yellow lotus, white lotus, and varied various. They also brought varied subtle fragrance, jewels, and garlands to cast on the Bodhisattva again and again.
When the Bodhisattva was born, five hundred celestial devis from the heavens holding fragrant oil made from various divine flowers, divine incense or scent, divine jeweled delicate garment, divine precious stones and chaplets, and divine subtle sound to come to the Bodhisattva's mother respectfully. They stood in front of her comforting and bowing to her, and saying that "Bodhisattva of Sujata (well born, of high birth, also tr. of Susambhava, a former incarnation of Sakyamuni, are you tired?"
When the Bodhisattva was born, the earth possessed eighteen appearances and six shakes. All living beings were also joyful. Not a single being had lustful heart, hatred, ignorance, arrogance, or fear. Not a single being was making evil deeds.
All ill people were healed. All hungry people got food, and thirsty people got drinks. They were all full up without lack of diet. All drunken people were sobered up. All crazy people became normal, the blind could see, the deaf could hear, and the imperfect in body and mind became normal. The poor had money and the prisoners were released. The beings in the hell could stop suffering, the animals got rid of all frights, and the hungry ghosts were all fed with enough food.
There were such innumerable rare and unusual things happened when the Bodhisattva was born from the right side of his mother.
菩薩初生。四方空中。起微妙風。清涼無惱。一切八方。清淨光澤。無有煙雲塵埃翳障；菩薩初生。於上空中。無有人作。自然而出妙梵音聲。
菩薩初生。於上空中。自出種種諸天音樂。種種歌聲。雨種種花。種種諸香。日光雖曝。不能令萎。此是菩薩希奇之事。
菩薩初生。於上虛空。一切諸天。各持無量優缽羅花。缽頭摩華。拘物頭華。分陀利華。諸如是等。種種雜華。復持雜種微妙諸香。復持種種眾寶花鬘。散菩薩上。散已更散。如是相續。
菩薩初生時。有五百諸天玉女。持諸天華所熏之油。持天塗香。持天種種寶微妙衣。持天種種雜寶瓔珞。持天種種微妙音聲。詣向菩薩母前而立。安慰問訊。發如是言。善生菩薩。無疲倦耶。
菩薩初生時。此大地具十八相。六種震動。一切眾生。皆受快樂。當於彼時。無一眾生而生欲心。無復瞋恚及以愚癡。無慢無怖。無一眾生造惡業者。一切病者。皆悉得癒。饑者得食。渴者得飲。皆令飽滿。無所乏少。惛醉眾生。皆得醒寤。狂者得正。盲者得視。聾者得聞。不完具足。貧者得財。牢獄繫閉。皆得解脫。地獄眾生。皆得休息。畜生眾生。除諸恐怖。餓鬼眾生。皆得充足。
