2. How to understand a word
There are six dimensions to help you understand a word: definition (in English), usage, function, attribute, synonym, and antonym. Additionally, “attribute” means “attitude” which gives a positive, negative or neutral tone to a word. For example, a word may show “agree,” “disagree,” or “be objective.”
There are two ways of understanding a word. One is concrete learning. That is, you remember a word by its relative solid figure, for example “chair.” The other is abstract concept learning or context-based learning. For example, “fast” is not an object. You have to see a car running to learn the sense of “fast.”
