Jews for Jesus missionary-David Garrett visited CLS

Jews for Jesus missionary, David Garrett, visited China LutheranSeminary on November 11 and gave a presentation in chapel and Genesis class about spreading the Gospel to Jewish people and about the Gospel God planted within the 7 Jewish feasts. Dave is also the Missions Committee Chairman at West Portal Lutheran Church in San Francisco, which has been supporting China Lutheran Seminary for about 8 years. God inspired us in a wonderful way through his message!!

Praise God for the Garrett's ministry, and pray for their continuedserving and fruitfulness.

Car Washing for Mission

On November 4, we held our second Car Washing for Mission. All family groups spend one hour in washing cars owned by teachers, students, staff members, and alumni. For each car the owner donates NTD 300, and each motor-cycle NTD 100. In addition to washing we offer prayer and benediction to the car and the owner. The court yard in front of the chapel were full of cars, motor cycles, and sound of prayers and laughter. It was really a fun and meaningful afternoon!

As a result, we were able to raise NTD 15,000. That fund will send to a remote village in Ethiopia for their purchase of another water pump.

Rev. Per Erikson visited CLS on Oct. 29

On Oct. 29, Rev. Johan Tidamann Johansen and Rev. Per Erikson visited CLS. Rev.Per Erikson is the Pastor of Fredikstad church, Norway. This trip to the seminary for him to know more about the need of the seminary but also witness God's amazing grace upon us. May God bless his ministry and family.

New Administrative Vice President, Mr. Joseph Lu

On September 15, Board Director Rev. KAO Ying-mao announced a new personal event which is unanimous approval during the Board meeting on September 7 that Mr. Joseph Lu will be theAdministrative Vice President of China Lutheran Seminary for the next year. Last year, Mr. Joseph Lu was under Sabbatical in Lutheran Theological Seminary, Hong Kong for his S.T.M., majoring in Missionology with his wife and daughter.

The Testimonies of CLS Freshmen
The most impressive and encouraging prat of the pre-class retreat were the freshmen's testimonies. 20 students shared the amazing grace from God that they experienced in their lives. Their stories were full love and touching events about the ways in which they came to know God.

Master of Divinity

Elder Lee, Shan-ho who was CEO of Abundant Grace construction cooperation before becoming a seminarian.
His story really touchs and inspires us.

Mrs. Yu, Yun-chin, who isn't a freshman at all because she used to study and take courses in CLS.

Mr. Huang Yin-shen, who now serves in Zhu-nan Holy Church. His commitment to God is a good example for us.

Mrs. Lin, Shao-wen, who is from First Chinese Church of Christ in Hawaii. She is good at writing and editing church bulletin. Her parents gave their children a model of loyalty toward God and it had an important effect on them.

Mr. Wu, Qi-zhei, is the youngest freshman and he told us about his background and family. God really does great things in his life.

Pre-Class Retreat

On September 10 and 11, the big family of China Lutheran Seminary inculding faculty, staff and students went to the countryside of Taipei county, Ma-na Village,Shuang-xi town.

When we arrived Shuang-xi town, the rain greeted us with cool and humid atmosphere. However, we were all excited about this trip.

There are 20 freshmen this semester. And the theme of this retreat is " Facing the Time: The Challenge of Christianity". There were various activities during this devotion. The speaker is Dr. Yeh Ren-chang.

Visitors from Evangelical Lutheran Church in America

In the morning of February 13, 2009, there were six visitors from Evangelical Lutheran Church in America coming to China Lutheran Seminary. They were Bishop Dean Nelson（Bishop of Southwest California Synod）, Dr. Franklin Ishida（Director for Asia and the Pacific Global Mission）, Rev. Dr. George Tan（Assistant to Bishop Dean Nelson for Mission Empowerment）, Dr. Sherman Hicks（Executive Director of ELCA Multicultural Ministries）, Rev. Joseph Chang（Truth Church in Los Angeles）, Ms. Gladys Chow（translator）and Taiwan Lutheran Church Bishop Ji-Huang Chen.

CLS Celebrates Construction Completion

April 26 was a celebratory day marked by thankfulness to God at China Lutheran Seminary in Hsinchu, Taiwan. After a decade of planning and two years of construction, the new 8 story “Theological Education and Church Resource Center” is standing tall and stately. International and local guests joined together to worship and thank God for His work through contributors, and pray for continued contributions toward the $2 million (USD) that still needs to be paid for the construction costs.

New Building has been completely done!

"Theological Education and Church Resources Center" the new building of China
Lutheran Seminay has been completely done and we just finished the first phase check and acceptance. Praise to the Lord! He always watch every processure and item of this huge construction project inculding the
great amount of construction expense.
