【CLS 45th Anniversary Celebration introduction】
This end of October, we will hold a week long 45th anniversary celebration from Oct 24 to Oct 30. The activities will begin with a lecture titled “Interpretation of the James.” The speaker is the director of Chinese Bible International LTD. In James 2:17, James said, “Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” Again in James 2:23-24, he gave us an example of Abraham offered his son Isaac on the altar to show that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone. But in Romans 3:28, Paul said, “we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.” Also in Galatians 2:16, “a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ.” James’ point of view seems to conflict with Paul’s. We strongly invite you to explore the issue with us.
Second day Rev. Wei Ti-hsiang who works with Dandelion Hope Foundation is going to give a talk on “Seven Principles of Uplifting Spiritual Life.”
A famous writer Ms. Chen Yun-lin will introduce us a missionary movie called Joan of Arc. She will comment on the interplay of God’s will and the protagonist’s will in this movie.
On Thursday and Friday, we arrange two music events. First day, we invite aboriginal, haka and Korean groups. They will sing, dance and present a drama. Second day will be a concert.
A whole day activities will be on Saturday which include the opening of our CLS Archives, Bazaar, and Books Exchange.
