獎項定義與給獎標準，從來都爭議不斷(說穿了大家心中一把尺，是人就無法客觀)。而每年金曲獎從入圍名單到頒獎揭曉，各媒體(包括擷取網友鄉民等意見的報導)總有話要說要質疑要攻訐，甚至有時弄得評審團主席得出面解釋，經常愈描愈黑。

葛萊美獎這全球矚目大獎，依「外國的月亮比較圓」之邏輯，照例是翻譯外電改寫各唱片公司新聞發稿了事，鮮少有誰用同樣檢查標準，深究其中奧妙。

旅遊介紹裡的加拿大總是風光明媚；電影電視裡的加拿大總是良善開放，叫我這小腦袋怎麼都聯想不到搖滾樂。儘管那個高唱〈You Outta Know〉的Alanis Morissette以首張專輯暢銷逾千萬張，驚動全世界，但威力恐怕遠不及這些年成群結隊出現的加拿大搖滾團，叫人不得不對「加拿大幫」嚴正視之。

《Jazz After Midnight》以爵士為基調，分別命名為「Before Midnight」與「After Midnight」，流轉著Norah Jones幽緩演繹的〈Tennessee Waltz〉、去年轉投Blue Note旗下贏得滿堂彩的浪漫女伶Stacey Kent獻給舞王Fred Astaire的〈Let Yourself Go〉；或是名滿歐陸的瑞典新爵士雙人組Koop所帶來的〈Whenever There is You〉及義大利Bossa樂團Nossa Alma Canta讓人輕鬆愉悅的〈The Nearness of You〉…
