創作若是多了一些不同的元素

所碰撞出來的火花也許會更有意思

就Phil Collins而言

一個終日與鼓為伍的搖滾歌手

加上一些60年代Motown色彩

又會有著什麼樣大放異彩的作品呈現??

在1982年的單飛第二張專輯"Hello,I Must Be Going"中

Phil一償夙願地翻唱了他最熱愛的Motown時期的作品

1966年由Supremes唱紅的冠軍單曲"You Can't Hurry Love"

節奏輕快詞意淺顯

洋溢著熱情的少年情懷

結合了Phil精湛的鼓技與搖滾元素進來

讓這首歌彷彿重獲新生

打入排行榜的Top10佳績

這樣成功的結合

讓Phil更希望進一步地創作屬於自己的類Motown風格的作品



有時命運巧合地令人不得不懷疑

這是天衣無縫的的預謀嗎

後來的一次因緣際會中

Phil與60年代Motown唱片的當家創作人Lamont Dozier結識

如同看見崇拜的偶像一樣興奮的Phil高興地擁抱住Dozier

就像周星馳在電影裡頭常說的那句話一樣:"對你的景仰猶如江水一般滔滔不絕!!!"

但是真正的合作是在1988年的事了



1986年Phil在當紅的電視影集"邁阿密風雲(Miami Vice)"客串一角

原本因童年時演出電影所有的片段都被剪光的不愉快往事

都被這一次的客串機會一掃而空

而且還為此劇唱了一首插曲(印象中有看過.....至於細節.....早已忘了!!!)

食髓知味的他又接了另一部電影"火車大盜(Buster)"

劇中的時代背景是60年代

正是Phil最愛的Motown年代

所以Phil毫不猶豫地接下這部片的拍攝

並找來Lamont Dozier共同合作

寫出那個年代特有風格的作品

除了翻唱"The Groovy Kind Of Love"這首老歌之外

也創作了另外兩首新作"Two Hearts"與"Big Noise"

值得一提的是Lamont Dozier為了重溫那種老式風格的曲式

翻箱倒篋地找出自己當年的作品來找回靈感

而這首"Two Hearts"就是Lamont Dozier以Phil唱"You Can't Hurry Love"量身訂做的歌曲

令Phil十分滿意

而這首歌也不負眾望地在1989年1月奪得Billboard的冠軍
