在那個1960年代充滿反戰思想

愛與和平信念下的嬉皮潮

The Papas & The Mamas正是那個時期的一個重要的流行文化指標

在他們熱情奔放、和諧美妙的音樂中，以民謠搖滾為基礎，

傳遞著他們獨特嬉皮形象和生活方式

在當時廣受年輕一輩的歡迎

1964年，樂團在加州成立。成員有John Phillips和Michelle、還有Cass Elliott、Denny Doherty兩對夫妻

因此才取名為The Papas & The Mamas

在1966年推出了單曲“California Dreamin'”，在排行榜排名第4，共售出了100萬張。

而California Dreamin'”在描述60年代或是傳遞出反傳統的嬉皮思維的影片中

是一首不可或缺的時代歌曲

像是阿甘正傳與王家衛的重慶森林片中都有這首歌曲

同年，“Monday,Monday”、“I Saw Her Again”都先後進入排行榜前5名

更在次年拿下了葛萊美最佳創作、年度最佳流行樂隊兩個獎項。



隨著突如其來的走紅與榮耀

但是原本率性的他們不知如何掌握名利卻陷入了另一個險境

70年代以後失去創作的靈感

加上失意而沉迷於毒品與不自制的大吃大喝

他們就隨著嬉皮與反戰的潮流退去後乏人問津



20年後

1990年出現了一個美聲三重唱Wilson Phillips

其中一位成員Chynna Phillips的雙親則為The Mamas & The Papas的成員John Phillips與Michelle Phillips

她們靠著優美而和諧的合音

不僅一推出就大受歡迎，數支單曲不但拿到排行榜冠軍

專輯還得到葛萊美獎等提名，相當風光。

但宿命的是好景不常

在1992年推出第二張專輯銷售成績不如以往

她們三位也各奔前程成為歌壇閃亮的流星



充滿陽光的加州夢....今年冬天在惡劣風雪下早已蒙塵

而明日又是週一
