Mella Jaarsma
Throughout the 25 years of her life in Indonesia, Mella Jaarsma’s artistic practice has become a microscope for examining the various aspects of a complex life.  The influences of the environment she lives in Yogyakarta – a place where aspects of modernity and tradition compete and mix in a unique way – contribute to making her works full of unexpected puzzles of meaning. Her works are always provocative and subversive – inviting viewers to rethink social stereotypes, such as those concerning religion, social class, communal identity, ethnicity, morality, tradition, political ideology, etc.

徵件作品規格：
(1)      2007年以後創作，且尚未發表之作品
(2)      包括食物與分配、階級、禁忌、環保、文化、身體、消費、勞動、農村問題等，以及上述觀念延伸出之食物從屬關係、有關等相關議題

申請資格：年滿18歲，不限國籍
收件截止：2010年01月31日(郵戳日期為憑，逾期恕不受理)

The 2nd Taiwan International Video Art Exhibition 2010
Entry Guidelines:
(1) Entries are restricted to artworks created after the year 2007, and are limited to unpublished works that have not been previously shown in any exhibitions.
(2) Entries are opened to topics related to the issues of food, such as distribution, class system, taboos, ecology, culture, body, consumerism, labor, farmland, etc…

     今年為亞洲國際大展年，六個泛太平洋地區大展所組成的「藝術羅盤計畫」（Art Compass），由雪梨雙年展於七月首先開跑，第二個為九月六日上場的廣州三年展，再來為光州雙年展、上海雙年展、新加坡雙年展以及橫濱三年展，提供了藝術愛好者在最短的時間內大量欣賞與吸收目前國際當代藝術的新潮流，當然也提供了大展彼此之間較量競技與觀摩學習的好機會。儘管在全球化的今日交通已經讓人可以自由進出國界，但在密集的時程下，還是不免讓人消化不良，尤其在各國競相舉辦大展的企圖心下，如何在既合作又競爭的舞臺上突破重圍、創建自我品牌與區隔化，並進一步獲得關愛眼神，相信也是每個主辦單位努力的方向，因為這也將成為下一屆觀者是否前來亞洲持續觀看的另一項關鍵，因此今年的「藝術羅盤計畫」真可謂是一場藝術界的決戰關鍵點。 ...繼續閱讀

     2008年南半球最受矚目的大展雪梨雙年展(Biennale of Sydney，簡稱BoS)，已於六月十七日正式對外開放，已邁入第十六屆的BoS在泛太平洋地區相關的雙年展中歷史最為悠久，今年邀請歐洲策展人卡羅琳‧克里斯多福-巴卡拉姬芙（Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev）策畫，主題定為『革命---轉變的形式（Revolutions---Forms that Turn）』，也成為今年亞洲雙年展「藝術羅盤計劃」[1]（Art Compass）當中，首先開跑迎接世界藝文愛好者的展覽。

美國有史來最大的雙年展就要開展

美國當代藝術一直遠離歐洲以及全球主要雙年展潮流已久, 但也終將加入這個潮流之內, 此雙年展將於11月於紐澳良開展, 目前看來將是美國有史以來最大的雙年展,而策展人是上一屆台北雙年展的Dan Cameron, 就我所知目前有一位台灣藝術家也在展覽受邀之內, 相關資料如下, 大家可以參考

Prospect.1 New Orleans, the largest biennial of international contemporary art ever organized in the United States, is pleased to announce that its Vernissage will take place on October 30 and 31, 2008 with private previews to be held at all participating venues throughout the city. A Press Conference will be held for all pre-registered and accredited press on Friday, October 30 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Among the highlights of the Vernissage is the Opening Gala at the classic New Orleans restaurant, Antoine’s, on October 31, which will help to underwrite the costs of presenting Prospect.2. This event will be followed by the annual Frenchman Street Halloween Parade, in which the entire city and visitors turn to the streets to celebrate.
