1963 年的時候，Stan Getz 與來自巴西的 Gilberto 夫婦用這首歌讓無數人沉醉在慵懶舒適的 bossa nova 風情中。一直到今天，「伊帕內瑪姑娘」還是我在咖啡店最常聽到的曲子﹔每次聽見 Astrud Gilberto 開始嘟嘟嘟，我的心就飛往巴西東南部的伊帕內瑪（Ipanema）海灘。明媚的陽光，陣陣的海浪聲，還有個巴西比基尼美女從眼前走過。

對「伊帕內瑪姑娘」最迷戀的作家可能是現在一頭油髮的標準歐吉桑──村上春樹大叔。在中譯短篇小說集《遇見100 % 的女孩》裡有篇小說就是「1963/1982 年的伊帕內瑪姑娘」。我第一次讀這本書的時候，只是個什麼都不懂的高中生。那時為了填補自己自以為是的空虛以及惺惺作態的文藝青年模樣，常常在放學後混跡書店，站著翻閱架上一本本的小說。當年看這篇小說時，我的直覺是村上大叔真是發春得徹底。

隨著時間過去，我也慢慢進入爵士樂的世界，這時我才用自己的耳朵實際聆聽這首「伊帕內瑪姑娘」。似乎可以體會村上為什麼寫出這樣一篇小說了。但他寫的時候肯定還是處於發春狀態。

在小說最後一段，村上寫著：

1963/1982 年的伊帕內瑪姑娘，如今依然繼續走在灼熱的沙灘上，直到最後一張唱片磨平為止，她會永遠不停地繼續走著。

真是十分美好的想像。一直以來，我也是這樣幻想。可惜今天讀了篇文章將此光景給完全終結。

這期的《Newsweek》國際版有篇文章談外來物種對當地生態所造成的重大危機，開頭第一句就是：「Tall and tan and fat and ugly…」，整個音韻如此令人感到熟悉，但這回卻是形容目前在伊帕內瑪沙灘橫行的巨型非洲蝸牛（achatina fulica），從大約二十年前開始，這種蝸牛被引進巴西，然後──就像台灣的福壽螺一樣──以驚人的速度繁殖，此時已經幾乎無法挽救了。

現在如果伊帕內瑪姑娘還繼續赤著腳走在沙灘上，她的腳可能會不時觸碰到那可以重達一公斤的非洲蝸牛吧。伊帕內瑪姑娘，走路要小心唷！
