About Motion Theory

Motion Theory is a micro-studio, redefining the production industry through a combination of visionary direction, creative development and innovative visual effects. The company's unique studio model unites the efforts of directors, designers, visual effects artists, writers, resulting in a deeply collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to making commercials, music videos, and other creative content.

     學期一開始都是有時間經營部落格, 像現在我想做一系列這類的專題, 來了解國外成功的工作室studio是如何運作和成形的。第一個就拿Keytoon  Animation Studio來研究,  他們製作最近很紅的短片" the Grandfather of Soul" (爺爺隨著"i feel good"的音樂, 翩翩起怪舞)。

本來只有3個有為青年, 帶著非商業賺錢目的,和抒發創意為目標的野心, 只是想弄個小型工作室, 在舒服的西班牙瓦倫西亞Valencia, 過著藝術家的生活; 但現在卻發展成另有在美國加州的分部，迪士尼卡通頻道和第四台Comcast都是他的客戶。

草創時期, 他們租了窄小的房間, 並與朋友分擔房租, 先製作出一些高品質的作品當底作為宣傳, 並利用網路尋找客戶, 雖然一開始很多問題和困難, 他們表示能讓工作室不斷成長的是, 除了他們從來沒有放棄的決心和高品質作品的標準, 最關鍵的是有很好的執行顧問和公關, Nina Rappaport, 她是前藍天工作室的顧問, 她是看到他們作品才志願做他們在美國區的顧問。

他們工作室裡的電腦配備是每個人桌上都有雙銀幕, 普通等級的PC配上好的顯示卡, 還有一台負責Render渲染的機器配有15 Dual Xeon; 他們使用的軟體有, 3D MAX, Zbrush(建模), Maxwell(render), Combution, After Effect(特效剪接), 他們也會用到flash和photoshop來做網路或平面廣告。
