從 Fedora 7 開始，Core 跟 Extras 將會合併，不再區分了

最近的 Fedora Project 相關的變化還真大 (Fedora Legacy 玩不下去、Core 跟 Extras 的合併)

我的機器上大多同時裝有 Fedora, ScientificLinux, Ubuntu and SuSE
之前從 Ubuntu 6.06(Dapper) 要升級到 6.10(Edgy) 搞得我一肚子火，也讓我放棄了 Ubuntu (目前機器預設都是進 FC6)
現在我準備把 OpenSuSE 10.1 升級到 10.2，同樣也是一肚子火，都把 Repository 指到 10.2 去了，然後 upgrade 時，系統資源吃了 9x% 等了久久，完全沒動靜，當在那了...XD
Updating SUSE Linux 裡寫的：

Warning

Updating from one version to another is unsupported and may result in system inconsistencies. Performing distribution upgrades in the running system increases the risk of causing damage.

好吧，我也放棄了 SuSE
到現在還是 Fedora 的升級最順利 (至少我把 CLE 主機從 FC1 升到 FC6 及我家的 Server 從 FC3 升到 FC6 都是順利的 )

未來，我可能不會再花太多時間在 Ubuntu 及 SuSE 上了(例如打包套件等等)

Linux 的支援週期越來越短了
更新的速度也越來越快
Fedora Legacy 計畫將不再支援 Fedora Core 4 及之前的版本
其實我早前就得知 FE 的 EOL for FE3 and FE4
Fedora Legacy

也就是說，現在只剩下 Fedora 官方的支援，每半年 release 一個新版本，同時，也會有一個舊版本將停止支援
