How was the music industry 5 years ago?

1. Record stores were still there.2. Music "sales volume" was only refered to those physical carriers. 3. No one believed mp3 sells.4. No one believed artists would give their music for free.5. Artists tour for CD selling. 6. iTunes haven't dominate the music industry. 7. MySpace is getting noticed (now it's dead) 8. Youtube is not born yet.9. Websites like Musictoday, Sandbag which provide ticketing, fan club, merchandise service were not doing so good like now. 1. MySpace was expected to be the biggest label in the world.2. Starbucks was expected to be the biggest music retailer.3. Youtube was expected to be the biggest media hub.

有時候我覺得...rock'n'roll is really dead.
so as everything else.
I've seen a interview, someone said:"musicians used to tour to promote their records, now they make records to promote their tours."
I guess that's the only way they can be sure they're making money.
It's sad...
