許多傳統文化繁衍至今，不是面臨了斷層危機就是成為難以追溯的歷史舊頁。所幸還有像弗洛迪‧浩特里(Frode Haltli)這樣的音樂家，樂意作為傳統文化與當代思潮的承繼者，並為其開拓出嶄新的視野。來自剖音(Poing)三重奏的風琴手弗洛迪‧浩特里，他在ECM底下所發表的第二張專輯「亙古彌新(Passing Images)」裡，試著憶起挪威西部峽灣(Fjords)的傳統民謠，如音樂家安德斯‧侯登(Anders Hovden)等人的旋律，並再次邀來挪威前衛演唱家Maja Solveig Kjelstrup Ratkje以及小喇叭手阿爾菲‧亨里克森(Arve Henriksen)、中提琴手Garth Knox等人合作，持續建立與保留了挪威傳統民謠這塊音樂遺產；一曲"Psalm"彷彿道盡了古老文明的悲苦與滄桑，並在弗洛迪‧浩特里的琴音與Maja Ratkje孤絕的嗓音下，引領聽者重新體驗斯堪地那維亞最古老神秘的音韻。

簡述弗洛迪‧浩特里與「剖音」
一九七五年出生於挪威特隆罕姆的弗洛迪‧浩特里，曾於挪威國立音樂學院及丹麥皇家音樂學院學習風琴演奏；並於二ＯＯＯ年獲得卑爾根國際音樂節「年度最佳青年獨奏家」的殊榮。現居於奧斯陸的弗洛迪‧浩特里，二ＯＯ一年曾於ECM底下發表首張專輯「黑暗中的凝望(Looking on Darkness)」，該唱片同時也獲得挪威葛萊美獎「最佳當代樂集」的肯定。縱然弗洛迪‧浩特里早已被視為挪威新一代優異的天才型樂手，對民謠、舞蹈、前衛爵士與現代作曲等各個範疇有著信手拈來的突出表現，但真正令他獲得更多掌聲與名氣的還是九九年與羅爾夫‧艾瑞克‧尼斯特勒姆(Rolf-Erik Nystrom)、哈康‧特林(Hakon Thelin)所組成的剖音(Poing)三重奏。被譽為斯堪地那維亞半島最有趣的當代音樂組合，剖音在首張專輯「爵士樂的巨人們(Giants of Jazz)中，大量地演奏了挪威作曲家Maja Ratkje、Eivind Buene、Oyvind Torvund以及Knut Olaf Sunde等人的作品，日後足額更橫跨了歐洲、亞洲中國與日本等地。二ＯＯ五年剖音加盟奧斯陸新銳音樂品牌Jazzaway，並推出全新專輯「剖音行星(Planet Poing)」。

挪威民謠的深鬱與內省│Passing Images
剖音的成功，的確讓更多亞洲的樂迷留意到弗洛迪‧浩特里傑出的演奏技巧。而事實上他在佳評如潮的首張專輯「黑暗中的凝望(Looking on Darkness)」裡，便試圖打破爵士與古典樂的蕃籬，並獲得Bent Sørensen、PerMagnus Lindborg、Magnus Lindberg等作曲家為其量身譜曲。此外，弗洛迪‧浩特里也出現在特萊格維‧賽姆(Trygve Seim)領軍的超級組合「溯源(The Source)」及個人專輯「Sangam」裡頭擔任伴奏。闊別近六年，這張原錄音於Ｏ四年十二月的第二張專輯「亙古彌新(Passing Images)」，弗洛迪‧浩特里試圖回溯與探索挪威傳統民謠的根源；靈感來自他所居住位於挪威與瑞典交界的峽灣村莊。專輯除了持續邀來挪威實驗音樂組合Spunk的前衛女聲Maja Ratkje擔任詩歌吟唱之外，並同時邀得超靜音(Supersilent)小喇叭手阿爾菲‧亨里克森(Arve Henriksen)以及活躍於倫敦的中提琴手Garth Knox等人共襄盛舉。專輯開場曲"Psalm"，靈感來自峽灣民謠；透過弗洛迪‧浩特里神秘而沉鬱的風琴音色勾勒下，彷彿有種置身於Albert Ayler聲音世界的錯覺。Maja Ratkje微弱低吟的嗓音與阿爾菲‧亨里克森充滿靈性的小喇叭穿梭其中，更有一份莫名的悲悽。"Inter"來自Maja Ratkje的聲音聚焦；緊接著"The Letter"在一份敲擊聲中揚起了Garth Knox憂悒的中提琴與阿爾菲‧亨里克森空蕩的小喇叭之音，把弗洛迪‧浩特里的風琴烘托地愈加孤絕。"Lude"是專輯中唯一一首四人共同創作的歌曲，透過人聲噪音、撥弦聲與喇叭所製造出的即興聲響，帶來一場瀕臨崩裂與瘋狂的聲音對話。"Vandring"繼續是流浪憂悒的風琴獨奏；"Pre"、"Lyrisk vals"與"Passing Images"等歌曲則來自挪威小提琴家Gustav Kåterud的影響；弗洛迪‧浩特里憶起年少成長於Våler i Solør時，那些聲音已經模糊的Gustav Kåterud舊唱片，曾經帶給他的感動與啟蒙作用。"Lyrisk vals"這首意謂著Lyrical Waltz的作品，同樣也是弗洛迪‧浩特里改編自Gustav Kåterud的民謠舊作，透過風琴、中提琴與小喇叭重新付予一份當代的美感。專輯多首作品最初弗洛迪‧浩特里都曾經嘗試風琴獨奏演出，而其中專輯同名歌曲"Passing Images"則是改編自Maja Ratkje二ＯＯ三年的舊作。挪威民謠的深鬱與內省，在弗洛迪‧浩特里的琴音下不斷地向上滋長，同時也藉此對傳統音樂資產投以一份尊重與傳承信念。

Frode Haltli (b. 1975) studied accordion at The Norwegian State Academy of Musicfrom 1994 and at The Royal Danish Concervatory of Music where he ended his studies in 2000. He was awarded the "Young Soloist of the Year 2001" title by the Norwegian Concert Institute at the Bergen International Festival 2000. His debut CD "Looking on Darkness" (ECM New Series) recieved "Spellemannprisen" (the Norwegian Grammy) for best contemporary music album, and it has recieved numerous very good reviews by international music critics. In 2004 Frode recieved the French "Prix Gus Viseur", also for the CD "Looking on Darkness".

At the age of 7 he started to play the accordion and the next few years Frode won many national competitions and recieved several scholarships and legacies. He was awarded first prize by the professional jury in the televised finals of The Norwegian State Broadcasting's "Talentiaden 1991". He has also recieved prizes at a number of international competitions. In 1999 he won a second prize in the prestigious International Gaudeamus Intepreters Competition in the Netherlands.

Frodecurrently  lives in Oslo but he is touring a lot abroad, and has played as a soloist at concerts and festivals  in Europe, Russia, America and Asia. He has performed as a soloist with major orchestras, but is also actively working with chamber music: At present it is the trio POING which occupies much of his time. The trio which includes Rolf-Erik Nystrøm on the saxophone and Håkon Thelin on the double bass mainly performes contemporary music. Frode also plays and records with Trygve Seim (ECM) and Norwegian folk music in RUSK with folk singer Unni Løvlid and fiddler Vegar Vårdal.
