講題：聽故事的快樂學堂    

講者：徐澤佩(書林英語教學顧問)

根據研究 "聽"是學習語言最有效的窗口，因為透過聽孩子能學到語音、用字及適切的表達。而在課堂上老師無往不利的教學方式就是 -- 說故事！說故事讓孩子能培養專心聆聽的好習慣外，更能幫助孩子在閱讀上打下良好的基礎。此次的workshop中將和老師分享說故事的基本技巧和運用故事培養孩子的cultural literacy！

講題：英文讀本當教材-活動設計

教科書不應該是孩子唯一的教材，因為孩子需要更寬廣的視野。透過簡易有情境價值的英文讀本，孩子在學習份量與效果上都能大符的提升。在本次的workshop中講者將示範如何利用英語讀本來設計教材與安排活動，讓孩子體會多元的學習方式！                             ★本場次舉辦有獎徵答贈書活動

講題：Teaching writing to Young Learners

講者：Tim Budden

Learning to write is one of the most challenging and rewarding aspects of language instruction. The most important factor in teaching writing is that students need to be personally involved in order to make the learning experience of lasting value. Introducing and practicing language using clear language models and topics that relate to students' lives makes the learning process a rich and memorable experience. 講題：Composing Our World: Taiwan-Centered Composition

This workshop will present a Taiwan-centered approach to teaching English composition based on the bilingual textbook, Composing Our World (現代英文寫作教程), published by Bookman Books in 2007. Using a PowerPoint presentation and group activities, the workshop will focus on ways teachers can improve composition instruction by incorporating Taiwan-based content and targeting specific problem areas of students in Taiwan.           ★本場次舉辦有獎徵答贈書活動

講者：Patrick Hafenstein (麥克米倫教學顧問)

This presentation will look at

a) what topics get students reading

b) what language support facilitates reading

c) what skills and strategies develop reading fluency and finally

d) how students can develop a long term reading habit that encourages learner autonomy. 

All points will be illustrated using examples from Macmillan's new for 2008 reading course book; ‘Essential Reading' - the first reading course book to incorporate both intensive and extensive reading.                                    ★本場次舉辦贈書活動

講題：英文作文教學

講者：陳坤田(天主教崇光女中專任教師)

本場次在呈現「如何教導學生寫作大考需求的英文作文」。內容包括命題方法，評分指標，培養學生寫作能力，和英文作文技巧如主題句，發展方法和結尾。也介紹大考的作文題型，讓與會者對大考英文作文有清楚的認知。 ★本場次舉辦有獎徵答贈書活動

講題：雙語詞典、新詞與翻譯

講者：蘇正隆(台灣翻譯學學會理事長)

時間：11月10日 下午1:10-2:10

傳統英漢詞典訛誤極多，除非有英文定義可以比對，否則讀者很難確定中文解釋是否可靠。許多幾十年來以訛傳訛的解釋，如將bald eagle誤為「禿鷹」，green beam誤為「綠豆」，a miss is as good as a mile 誤為「失之毫釐，謬以千里」，把at the end of the day當成「一天結束時」，technically speaking譯成「技術上說來」，...等，即是受到傳統英漢詞典的誤導。雙解詞典提供了英文定義，中文釋義弄錯的機率大為降低。但中文釋義是把英文定義原原本本照翻，還是只給中文對應詞呢，則值得討論。雙解詞典多以中、高階讀者為對象，裡面有哪些新詞以及如何翻譯，也是講者想要探討的層面及方向。

講題：Using dictionaries as a Teaching and Learning Tool

講者：Michael Hoey (Chief Advisor of Macmillan English Dictionary)

This presentation will firstly highlight a number of key language-learning research findings which impact on dictionary usage in the modern language classroom, including distinguishing between productive and receptive language tasks, improving writing skills through learner error corpora information and developing language awareness skills.  A number of practical activities and exercises which enable learners to develop their language knowledge through dictionaries will then be presented.  All examples and extracts used will be taken from the recently published second edition of the award-winning Macmillan English Dictionary for Advanced Learners.
